Yuck! Event was a terrible experience. Uninstalled WASAPI was almost destroying my headphone. Never ever going to use that again

I really like the Samsung pm893 (recommended by Antipodes) as a storage drive, powered by an external lps. I don't have room in my build for a sufficiently-sized m.2, so this is a good workaround.

Anyway after long blindtest session my conclusion came down to that JCAT was superior with cheap Thumbdrive connected to it with Foobar. It can be whatever audioplayer I guess(Portable)

I might need some technical help to understand why here.

Is the audio files/digitally being processed two times with the OCXO/clock? - because it is connected to JCAT

(I am even considering a JCAT USB XE more for the audio files)

I agree that Foobar2K is very easy to work with. HQplayer is more demanding in this regard, but many folks would agree that it is second to none as far as sound quality goes.

I have been testing the JCAT USB ENHANCER on the USB XE CARD on/off. There seems to be some emotional differences for me, its hard to differenciate because it has also something to do with time.

With the JCAT ENHANCER time is slowed abit, but the bass is more pronounced, the sound is more firm, "less" all over the place.

I have a theory that the Enhancer work as "ground" unit. Its very evident, because the bass is slower and more noticeable in a good way.

EDIT: The Enhancer is so good it makes me almost cry in my current setup. I have tried this before....on this setup, its emotional damage!

Right'o Captain Obvious but talking about music is like dancing about architecture anyhow and I bet the sonic improvements of XE USB + USB Enhancer would be impossible to measure, so at the end of the day there really is only one way to find out. Been listening to Morricone for decades for that matter.
