With firmware 1.4.2 my unit scans 2x 95% full 200gb cards in 25-30 minutes

That's interesting. On my DX80 the scan-process with 1.4.2 takes about 2 hours before it crashes. How many songs do you have on your cards? Later today I will give it another try with all cover-jpgs removed (of all my mp3-files). Maybe that makes a difference.

I have approx. 7500 apple lossless in three folders on each card most are 16/44 but there are about 500 24/96 mixed through
It has never taken longer than 40 min to scan both cards on any of the earlier firmwares

Do either of you have any input on how fast the scanning is (when it works)?

My library would be about 10,000 files across 2x 200 GB cards.

6600 songs on one 64 gb card = 15 minutes scan on 1.4.2

Not sure if it matters, but I always use the Sandisk Extreme Cards rated at 90 MB/s.

Hi there!

I just compared DX80 and X5-II. I love the DX80 sound signature, but i noticed that DX80 has more "hiss" or noise sound compared to the X5-II. Anyone notice this? Or it's just my DX80

It's all said by other members. And I made a typo in an earlier post, I wanted to say that "I think the player is fine, it just can't handle properly very sensitive IEMs." For very sensitive, I mean low impedance IEMs. For a 16 Ohm IEM, it show some hiss. More than 32 Ohm, it will be perfectly fine.

And I'll give you examples:
I have the DX80 and the D2Kj, it's a real nice pairing and I don't hear any hiss at all when the music is playing. There is a very low hiss between tracks.

@KC33 is only noticing better the hiss between tracks because of low volume in that time. If he put the volume in zero, and do a pause then play then pause comparison I bet he will notice significant hiss. The DN2000J has 8 Ohm of impedance.

It is normal for sensitive low impedance IEM. I was deciding between dx80 and X5II and went for DX80. I am using fidelio x2 and did not notice any hiss.

Fidelio X2 has 30 Ohm of impedance. It's fine.

I agree. My re600-s hiss a lot, but higher impedance iems do not. It's a drawback for being so powerful.

RE-600S has 16 Ohm of impedance. Not OK in DX80.

And in my example, Altone 200 has 16 Ohm. So has Ostry KC06. They hiss about the same. Fidue A71 is my worst next at 19 Ohm. My next IEMs are fine, they have above 32 Ohm impedance.

Moreover, re600-s is very sensible, about 102db/mw if I remember well.
If I use Panasonic hd10 cans, 18 ohms and 92db/mw, there's no noticeable hiss.

As I said in earlier posts, DX90 was totally black until 250 volume step.

I have not much technical knowledge but I guess I'm understanding you (can you explain what it means, the sensivity measure?). For instance, Vsonic VSD3S has 40 Ohm impedance and a sensitivity >108 dB/mW. But I don't hear any hiss with them besides their high sensitivity. I guess the most important is the impedance. And even if the impedance is low, if it has low sensitivy, that can "save the day" showing less hiss?

if anything just use an impedance plug but do note musicality is compromised
