I run Roon on a QNAP server that has USB outputs (I use one most effectively with my Chord Hugo DAC).

I want to make my Sennheiser HDVD 800 a Roon endpoint. It is on another floor, and I am sure that if I ran a USB wire, I could do this.

However, is there a way to do it wirelessly, maintaining sufficient bit rate for hi res audio? I have read about wireless USB, but it seems I would need a computer, rather than a dongle, on the DAC receiving end.

Thanks!

Thanks, @dachad. How does the slgnal get from the USB output of the Senn to the input of the Raspberry Pi? Wired or wireless?

No, exactly the reverse.

ROON sees the Pi over the network as a ROON endpoint. This is the trick to make a wireless connection between the NAS and the Pi.
The Senn is connected to the Pi over the USB

Yes, I see. Does the wireless connection have enough bandwidth for high res audio? Thanks!
