HifiMAN HE-6 Planar Magnetic Headphone

Just finished making my speaker tap to XLR 4 pin adapter.  HE-6 sounds even more amazing directly out of speaker output.  The soundstage and imaging got so much better.  Seems like there is slightly better detail and layering too.  Not to mention a lower noise floor.  Through the headphone out of my PM-84, I can hear slight hissing but it's not there with speaker out.

I think I did a pretty good job with the adapter although the wire isn't nicely bundled together.  Lots of gain in SQ just from ~$60 of wire.

Also realized I didn't need spade connectors for my amp.  Anyone know homegrown audio's return policy?  They never responded to my email...

Yeah, the Marantz does not accept either spade or banana connectors for the speaker posts. So I am getting some flat rectangular lugs made in silver to use with  the Marantz.

Once the wires are custom cut to your order, I'm not sure if you can return them.

I only ordered spade connectors.  Just opened the zip lock bag to take a look at them.  Should be able to return.  I guess I'll just have to call them on Monday.

Does anyone know if direct wiring your cables voids the warranty?

I think it does (as a general rule). Even just opening the cover of a cd-player (for example) will void the warranty, so if you open and change something like the wiring, then I think the warranty will be gone. However, these things will be evaluated by HiFiMan and their mileage may be different than a big electronics company.

Maybe it depends who does it. In my case mine were done by Aphroditecu29 who is a official dealer.

Agree, but I think that then the official dealer may have to answer for their work in case of a warranty issue, unless it obviously is a manufacturing fault, then HiFiMan takes the responsibility I expect.

An official dealer is generally very different from an authorized service center in regards to these matters.
