I didn't like the Adidas version so I choosed to buy the normal ones but this black/white thing looks amazing to my eyes.

When the adidas version can be bought at a local store for $199 vs the regular online for $249 it's a no brainer which one i would choose.

Yes, there's nothing to think about.

Here in Germany it's just the other way round.

It's usually the other way around here to but the adidas version was on sale for $199 when it's usually $299.

^ great price but... open box clearance sell at bestbuy: 50$ early this year. I couldnt believe my luck so much that I had to buy it even when I already had a pair.

WOW.

I would have done the same.

Yeah, I snagged a pair of the special edition(or whatever they called it) at new egg I think it was. They came with a case but no velour. I bought the velour from Senn.

GreatDane, I've seen your audio equipment (gorgeous photos btw) and that is quite a large list of have/had equipment. it kind of surprise me that you are liking the HD25 so much. cool!

hey thanks. What's strange is that in over 200 pics I didn't have any of the HD25. I just found one on another forum that I shot when I bought my Sony so I'll add it to the pile.

Anyone here owned both the Grado SR80i and the hd25-1?

Currently have the SR80is and wondering if they're a good upgrade as I'm looking at a pair of closed headphones this time.

Had the SR-80i when I purchased the HD25's.  The Grado's wen up for sale pretty much right away.  No looking back, at least for me.. love the HD25's .. great bass and smooth miss and highs. I couldn't wear the SR80i's for more than 1/2 an hour before they started to grate on me.. can listen to the HD25's all night. YMMV.

Grate on you meaning that Grado fatigue? It's what kills them for me. Could you comment on how the soundstages compare?

even with the open - closed back diference, the sr60/80 dont have much soundstage, I'd say they have the same as the HD25, meaning almost nothing.

Thats just the way i like it.

I have them both right now. Sound wise I would not call the HD25-II an upgrade over SR80i- there are certain areas where HD25-II excels (bass qty, more natural voices). SR80i still has the airyness of open headphones and that fun treble. Soundstage wise they are almost the same, maybe Senn is a bit wider but not by much. I got the HD25-II for a closed portable alternative to SR80i and about that I'm 100% satisfied. If you want something different, I'd recommend the HD598. More laid back, has soundstage and better comfort than Grado- the open Sennheiser sound.
