Grado e Series

Also, i may add..i was also impressed with Grado's new GH-1. But at $695.00, the $200.00 more than a RS2e wasn't justified. For me the RS2e hit very close to the perfect balance of price/performance level. Even at $495.00 that's not chicken feed!
The SR325is at $295.00 was a chunk at the time for my budget. But there $200.00 more was, dare i say a "reasonable" jump? No regrets. I truely enjoy where im at now.
I know, a lot of rambling about should you simply change your ear cushions? Lol Please forgive me. I just hope i made my point? My recommendation would be try borrowing a pair to see if you like what you hear? Good listening.

G cushions don't sound right with the SR models you'll lose their SQ (although some like them on the 325x).
The only 2 models which can benefit from G cushions are the PS500x (which I never heard) and the GH1 which I own and use them with G cushions.

Are you using L cushions on both your 60/125?
If not, these will increase the SQ for sure so I would go this route.
Can confirm that ps500x sounds great with Gs. Their predecessor hf2 also.

Anyway the point is that for the SR and RS lines the Gs are not compatible while you can change between S cushs, L cushs, flat pads and Senn hd414 pads. An improvement in SQ is not guaranteed (it's subjective) but at least they won't ruin the sound like the G cushs.

Do look up the ms1000 mod though

Hi there. Allan here. RS2e user. Just discovered this thread.

I just wanted to let people that are interested in taming the treble on Grados about MrSpeaker Doggie Treats. The treats aren't very expensive, and cut the treble a few db. They are basically a acoustically neutral felt that you just put inside the ear pad. You need to cut them a little for the Grados, but that is easy.

Question. I have some 414 pads I used on other headphones. I was thinking of TTVJ flats, but now I'm thinking I just try the reverse quarter mod. I read that the flats are better, but will the reverse quarter mod on the 414s give me a pretty good feel for the flats, or are the flats really quite different from the modded 414s?

Thanks.

Hello everyone, I'd need an advice, I have a grado sr225e, I tried a iBasso dx 80 and I hated it too sharp sound and fatiguing, which I recommended dap for the 225e to have a warm sound and non-fatiguing?
onkyo dp-x1 or fiio x7?
thank you.

never understood the hype for ibasso. Try to buy an ak100 instead. An used one wouldn't cost you too much

In fact I have the impression that the driver is too close to the ears.
Ipad are good ones in the series gs grado?

Yes!
I recently made this change on my Grado SR325i. I'll likely keep the original pads, but they are easy to swap and reduce the treble a lot!

Certainly worth the $20 to try out, in my opinion.

I tried a ak jr but the sound was not detailed enough, my fear and that onkyo dp fiio x1 and x7 with dac saber and together with the 225E has a fatiguing sound.

Have any of you tried them?
Ak jr is not a good DAP. Do try the ak100 though.

There is hard to advice you because you should hear by yourself for example I have x7 + am5 paired grado ps1000e very satisfied also have Fiio e12 that gives me beautiful sounds

Good evening, unfortunately I can not make plays, but if you say that fiio x7 and grado go well I'm glad, those type of plays has warm and detailed?
