Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Yep, one person tried them. Maybe a search can find it. I do remember that it wasn't a very good impression and there was no interest and it faded away real quick after that. May not be remembering right but I think they had the first one so that was why they had the interest and found one but it did not live up to the promise after the first one. It wasn't bad but you could do better sort of thing.
We shall see on Monday. It appears from the online reviews, take those for what they're worth, that there are no features but excellent sq. Will A/B with the Svanar to test the sq. I am okay with that, sq is my top priority.

Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I'm looking for new earbuds (currently using the Lypertek s20) and some people have recommended the Galaxy buds pro 2 since I will use them with a s23 phone and Spotify.

Are these really the best option in the $200 to $250 range? Or would you guys suggest something else?

I mostly listen to 90s/early 2000s hip hop so not looking for insanely detailed buds but I'm sensitive to sibilance and the quality on some of the more underground songs can be slightly poor. Obviously I sometimes listen to other genres as well that will require a little more audiophile aspects so would be nice if the buds could handle that (hence the price range).

I purchased a pair a couple of months ago and subsequently sold them. SQ to me was very thin, even with the Audiodo feature. Are 4 EQ presets but no custom EQ option and the preset options really didn’t make any big difference in SQ to me. I have seen a few reviews of critics who liked them, however. I’ll be interested to get your thoughts and impressions.

Amazon purchase....easy return if they don't cut it

BT 5.3

10 hours with AAC+ANC OFF

AAC/SBC/MSBC/LDAC

APP Support

Multipoint

I reviewed this one a while ago too, and included measurements as well as some binaural ANC and sound samples. They sound good, but ANC is really weak and app support very flakey.

Sometime to many options make things confusing and confuses results.

Turns out I had turned on the spatial audio on the Elite 10 and it affected my initial comparisons between the XM5 and Elite 10. That feature really does affect the sound, making the Elite 10 sound thin in my opinion.

Once I turned that off and register to Patricia Barber Code Cool album it was much more enjoyable and make the difference between the Elite 10 and XM5 much closer. I find they are both very immersive but for different reasons. The Elite 10 is more vocal forward and has more upper midrange and treble detail so it's more around you but almost feels like to much sound and a bit widely spaced. Vocally this artist is a bit sharp on her enunciation especially her S's and the Elite nail this completely.

The XM5 on the other hand has deeper empty spaces with a much lower noise floor. The double bass also has a bit more pluck to its sound. It loses some of the upper midrange and lower treble noise but this creates more space for vocals and strangely more cohesiveness to the music. Vocally there is slightly less enunciation of her S's and more richness to her voice and it's slightly less elevated.

Having them both on a level playing field I still give the edge to XM5 just because it feels more club like and the lushness if just really enjoyable.

The Elite 10 is really enjoyable as long as you are not bothered by the added sibilance and like to be immersed around the notes of the music so drum sounds literally surround you if its just a drum solo, or guitars, double bass, piano, drums are all playing around you and Patricia's voice fills the whole space at the same time. This immersion is why I really enjoy them for progressive rock which is generally spacey in nature. For Jazz I also like it, but could see how some might not enjoy that type not sound.

I got the new Soundcore A20 Sleepbuds, and damn they are SMALL.

From the front you can't even see them! So yeah, this is just a picture of my ear (but I do have them in):

They actually sound good too, which is the surprising thing. I mean, obviously not the earbuds you should get for audio quality, but I can listen to them and be completely satisfied for the moment, very inoffensive sound signature and with some EQ in the Soundcore app they are very acceptable, and surprisingly good for such a small size.

nice and early, on Soundcore;s website it says release is tomorrow .. and no mention of price ...

I tried the Bose sleep buds and the 1more comfobuds ZZZZ ... and both were 'eh' .. the 1more were actually pretty good, but battery life very quickly went down to 2h .. so, since then I use sleep headband style headphones that cost like 10-20 bucks ...

But sure enough I am curious about these .. let's see when amazon JP will carry them .. and how much

(ah, I see that was a Kickstarter ... looks like the eventual retail price will be more than I would like to pay .. )

Glad you caught that. Spatial sound sounds absolutely terrible with music. It's more for video and gaming use.

The PSB arrived today. I am hesitant to make any comment at this time since I just got them.

The packaging is not awe inspiring. There are only three sizes of ear tips, unfortunately I need one size larger. I jammed the largest ones deep in my ear and was surprised at the level of the bass when I had a proper seal. Wish there was one larger size because what I heard was impressive. I am tip rolling as I type. The final TWS tips so far are working well.

The app is very basic but the tuning option is decent. The staging is very impressive, reminds me of a wired IEM.

No features, just sound. So far I am hearing a top quality, immersive sound. The volume is very loud, but if you wish you can set a limiter.

More a little later...

Meh. I had these. They had connection problems. Sound was fine. Warm. Smooth. Fine. I didn't give them a lot of time due to the connection issues so it's possible that they have been tweaked or something. They felt like they cost $10 bucks to make; really really cheap feeling. For $200 I guess they are fine but no ANC eh. Pass.
