  No online updates here either.

  none here either

Thanks for confirming!

@JamesFiiO

I hope this is included in your list of "to address" in the firmware or maybe in your IT back end. Or if you can't get the OTA to work, then a simple link will do for us users to download. Hopefully your future reveals will bear fruit and not leave us users hanging.

  I can't sorry, that's up to Fiio. I doubt they'll appreciate me releasing it. This was for testing Tidal and Spotify
I had to use the special update tool as well, not the OTA or normal manual update procedure.

Totally understand! thanks!

now on 3.0.4 (thanks to you know who you are) - I'm afraid I will let him do all the sharing - just post and he'll help out.

- Got my first "Google has crashed" prompt while switching from Android to Pure Music mode - but wasn't able to replicate it since
- Scanning Media doesn't start immediately (as mentioned by Matthew). It will eventually start after maybe a few minutes of waiting and I notice it started scanning after disconnecting it from my PC.
- There's a change in screen transition in Music App. In every screen/selection you go, the screen fades and reappears in a quick manner - didn't notice that before (or was it always there???) I believe people refer fluid transitions rather that abrupt screen transitions
- VU Meter still needs to be addressed
- Search function still not searching correctly and is sluggish - can't even find a "Maroon" keyword from my files.
- Button Mapping still has that "annoying" 2 step menu levels

EDIT:

- "Google has crashed" prompt twice now - both instances were from switching from Android to Pure Music
- In Pure Music mode - it doesn't matter if you have BT on or off, if you accidentally hit on the BT Share icon "Twice" while music is playing - Music App will crash - every single time!

  Hi, karloil
Sorry for making confusion.
Maybe you are meaning that post: http://www.head-fi.org/t/822149/the-public-beta-firmware-of-android-5-1-for-fiio-x7-is-coming/120#post_12957558
We won't release a beta firmware in there any more. The later beta firmwares will all be released in this post: http://www.head-fi.org/t/822983/official-x7-beta-firmware-android-5-1-download-and-discussion-thread-fw3-0-3-beta/30#post_12957400
We will change the title of it when new firmware comes. Thank you for your kind feedback.

@FiiO

You had to have a internal meeting from time to time! James just released 3.0.4 in http://www.head-fi.org/t/713735/fiio-x7-dxd-dsd-384k-64b-ess9018-android-wifi-bluetooth-4-amp-modules-balanced-out/14970#post_12969323 when you mentioned that later beta firmware will be release in http://www.head-fi.org/t/822983/official-x7-beta-firmware-android-5-1-download-and-discussion-thread-fw3-0-3-beta/30#post_12957400

If I'm counting correctly and not getting crossed eyed - different people from FiiO are all talking about the beta firmware - bugs, releases and etc in 3 DIFFERENT threads

  Sorry folks but the 3.04 firmware link was PM'd to me so I don't have permission to post it here.

You should now find that 3.0.4 is available via OTA update.

With FiiO's permission, we have setup a new thread to deal specifically with known bugs/issues in the latest X7 firmware:

Good luck to anyone trying the OTA update.  It will take 2 to 4 hours to download it.

we are really doing a lot of FiiO's work for them - please don't get me wrong, the community (including FiiO) appreciates your work. But it should be FiiO who should be tracking this and we in turn provide feedback on the firmware bugs.

I'm quite frustrated by these events and can't help but give my observations...but i'm going to stop for now and see what FiiO says.
