A lot of dongles do cut off the first 0.1s
FiiO KA17, Shanling UA4, iBasso DC06Pro, TempoTec Sonata BHD Pro all do.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the implementation and/or configuration of DAC automute.

But: iBasso DC04Pro does not cut off anything. So if this is important to you, I suggest iBasso DC04Pro.

Hmm, I don't remember the xDuoo Link2 Bal or the Moonriver 2 Ti cutting off anything, but maybe I'm wrong. I might try the latter again this afternoon.

Almost every DAC I’ve owned cuts off a bit of audio at the beginning on my MacBook (not just dongles, desktop amps too), but it depends on the app. It never happens with Qobuz or Roon, but it does with Apple’s built-in Music app or Chrome.

The buttons for switching tracks in mode B, C do not work in any mode. Firmware 2.0, what am I doing wrong?

I'm a new KA17 user
I have some wierd problem
1. when attach dongle and start UAPP everything good, but when pressing stop and then closing the apps (minimized) suddenly static noise appear, but no static noise when minimized app while music still playing.
Problem only on UAPP
2. After UAPP ended, i cannot play tidal, qobuz or fiio music (no sound), need to reattached dongle then normal again.

Ka17 With firmware 2.0

Anyone had a same problem ?

Not sure about point 1. The sound floor of the device using my oppo x find is deadly silent. I did have something similar when using my older dongle which was the ka03 in that I could hear static loading of background apps accessing the 5g network.... So it could be network interference on you phone. Try to repeat your symptoms in airplane mode with WiFi turned on on your home network to rule this out.

Point 2. UAPP - when you insert the dongle and give UAPP control on the dac by pressing yes on the pop up message you are giving UAPP exclusive control of the ka17.

In order to use the dac for any other apps on your phone you must exit the app and unplug the Ka17.

When you reattach the dongle and the message pops up to give UAPP total control just deny it by pressing no.

The Ka will then be available for any other apps on your phone ie: YouTube, Amazon music, qobuz, tidal etc

Firmware 2.0. When i use uac2 and tidal app on pixel 7, if song is flac and then mqa, there is no sound till you reconnect dongle, same goes for mqa -> flac, when it is uac1 no problem at all. Any idea how to fix it?

Hi, we reproduce the same problem when using the DAC product from other brands, so it may not be the problem related to the DAC. We have reported the problem to Tidal support and still waiting for their reply. If you are convenient, you could also contact Tidal for checking at the same time.
