So a supposedly updated K7 you have in your hands... did they do anything with the volume control or bring down the brightness of the RGB ring? I am hoping the BT version will allow Fiio app connection to at least control the RGB ring.

As far as I can tell, compared to the prior 3 K7s I’ve owned before this, the ring has the same brightness and there’s no way to manually change this or the color (outside of adjusting the sample rate).

You had 3 so far? I returned mine and just waiting for a bit or even the BT version to see if it offers Fiio app connection to control RGB ring like it does for the K9 series.

I had ordered 2 around December hoping I’d get one without the volume drop issue after the first one I got around the time the K7 launched but all 3 of them ended up having that problem. So I returned them all and waited a few months for FiiO to restock their Amazon store. Fortunately it seems this newest batch is without issue.

I really hope things are addressed in a revision so I can purchase again because I really liked the K7.

Got my K7 (from the new batch with the fixed 'sound drop' issue) last Monday and so far no problems at all.
Turned off the RGB lights altogether using the provided tool and FW files from FiiO support.
