The best I heard from SM3 V2 is using Twag V2 + TX100 tips. Sound close to JH13.

I can understand the TWag V2 making a difference in that direction but foam tips? Really? I always found them to make things darker and didn't help the SM3.

Please understand. TX100 doesn't make SM3 darker, I think T100 does. I stronger suggest to try it first. I ordered some new TX100 :D. TX100 make the soundstage little bigger than usual. And twag V2. make it sound more likely JH13 with stock cable.

TX100 is the one with the wax-guard right? I thought that would make it worse, really. Unless....is the opening on the TX100 bigger / wider than on the T100? Perhaps that could make the difference.

Also, that sweet Fostex HP-P1 and TWag v2 cable probably helps alot as well! Thats a really nice setup.

im new to the custom cables idea. what are some options and what kind of improvements would they make to this particular iem. i mainly listen to rap and rnb and like bass, but dont just want bass if that makes sense. i am torn between thes and westone 3. i beleive the sound of jvc700 would be good, but isolation is pretty important to me also. will a custom cable help with deep but clear bass and allow for decent vocals and highs also?

Yup, TX are the wax-guard kinds. And yes tx100 will give you bigger wider feeling than T100.

Actually, I was referring to the nozzle  / opening of the tips i.e. is the TX100 nozzle/opening bigger than the one on the T100?

They are the same nozzle. Tx100 just have filter screen that T100 dont have. Hard to say why 1 more filter screen can change the sound like that. That is why I suggest you try to put it on. 20 obo for 3 pairs.  cheap :D

Probablly you shoud get copper cable like Twcu for listening some songs that have hard bass.Cuz normally Copper cable can make the mass smoother. but I never try Twcu on SM3.

I'm almost tempted to buy a SM3 V2 new, although the W4 ghost, haunt my mind.

What I will find best in SM3 compared to W4?

I intend to be my first and only high-end for 2-3 years.

The W4 dosnt hold a candle to the SM3. dont worry about it.

Thank you, even if there was or there is a tie, the Earsonics maintenance after warranty is more interesting to me in  EU.

SM3 and W4 are 2 entirely different beasts. Not even in the same league, I should say. But both are very good at what they do. Ultimately, it comes down to preference. Obviously for me, preference dictated that the SM3 stomped all over the W4.
