Hmmm...I'll see when I compare the two side by side. What I've taken away from the initial reviews is that 200 sounds even better than the 100. As for colder vs warmer sound. I don't think anyone has 200+ hours of burn in yet and everyone is saying the units are sounding better and better the more they're used.
Unfortunately, the plane from China missed it's connection in Cincinnati so now it's coming Monday...oh well a few more days won't kill me.
Now we have UK availability the next question for me is is it worth upgrading from my dp-X1?
My two sd slots are great but not a deal breaker. I also have a dx100 - great sound but woeful UI and battery life.
SQ comparison dx200 vs dp-X1 most welcome! Would need to sell the Onkyo to fund dx200 purchase!![/quote
I agree the sd slots arent a big deal. Who needs more than 250gb in a dap anyway. Soon 512gb micro sds will hit the market anyway.
I suppose everyone heard things differently. I have the 1Z, not the 1A, but the 1Z clearly has fuller mids, and my DX200 is past 200 hours. That is very encouraging to hear... Me likey full rich sounding players.
Setting sound quality aside. Of all the design concepts I've seen prior to release,...this has to be the worst choice. Looks like a big ugly phone.

I will compare again when I have time to confirm my impression, but I am sick these days.
dx100 sounded warmer on the first listen. Less than one hour.Hmmm...I'll see when I compare the two side by side.
