Finally my take on the DN-2002 here

Thanks for the review.  And since I have both the DN-1000 and DN-2000, it was easy for me to relate.

Now it's just a matter of gathering some funds for these, but that might only then be next year (hopefully).

Nathan aka  @shigzeo had a close look at the Dunu DN-2002 as well, you can find it online here: http://www.headfonia.com/review-dunu-dn-2002-topper-sound/
He'll be more than happy to answer your questions if there are any

Dunu, are there any updates on the DK-3001 and 4001? It's been a year since the initial reveal in this forum.

DUNU plan to release the DK-3001 on early Nov. to oversea market. DK-4001 after that but not yet decide the date.

OMW, I so feel like just getting the DN-2002s but I know I should wait for the new models and then choose from there.  But I'm becoming so impatient - and I don't even have money for these yet.

Well..placed an order for the 2002s from PenonAudio. Doubt I'll get them this week, but hopefully soon.
So, no more buying for at least 2 - 3 years (even that's too early really).

EDIT: OK so they were scheduled for delivery on 03/10/2016, but today (01/10/2016) I went to collect myself. Initially I'm very happy. Although it's still early days, it seems like I'm getting a decent fit. Haven't tried any other tips yet (just the red SpinFits that were already attached). I've tried wearing down and over-ear and getting a seal either way. Just need to see if they remain comfortable for long periods. But good start so far...now it's only time that will tell.

EDIT2:. After a bit of use it feels like I'm getting a good seal...but just-just. It just doesn't feel secure enough - not like the DN-2000 which may have been a little finicky for some, but ultimately gave a decent fit. Actually I find wearing over-ear I struggle with seal even more than wearing down - but I can get it. I really want to like these, but I can't see that happening. The main problem I believe is that the nozzle is straight and not angled forward.
I live so far away, so when I buy, I buy "blindly". I cannot try anything, and I cannot return anything (not easily, cheaply or safely). So it's a little sad that I'm not happy. I love my DN-1000 and DN-2000 a lot, and was hoping these would be my next love with removable cables, but I just don't know. So much money. l like DUNU (I won't turn away because of one product that didn't work well with me) and am eager for their products, but I can't afford anything now or anytime soon. I will just have to accept defeat.
They sound good but I've been fiddling so much with the fit that I haven't been able to really pay much attention.

I mean, I am getting a seal, but they just don't sit right for me. This is my experience, and I definitely don't mean harm to these at all. I want DUNU to grow even more. Maybe, if you can, "try-before-you-buy".

Thanks for the little write-up caspadan. I was so hyped to get these but initial reviews where comfort seemed to be an issue got me to hold off and wait for the DK models (they look more comfortable and made for over-ear listening which is what I prefer).

I've been waiting patiently but now I'm getting interested in the Audeze iSine 10's. I'm hoping 3001/4001's come out soon - Dunu at least said November for the 3001's and probably next year for the 4001's (crazy, over a year since the reveal and only one model is out).

Who am I kidding though, the 3/4001's will probably be out of my price range anyway but I think I'll wait until the pair and iSine 10's get compared..

Please forgive this long post.

OK, so..
My biggest problem in this whole earphone hobby is my location.  This means that I cannot return items (because I must import and so cannot just buy from a shop) if I'm simply not happy like I hear others do. I see people just order two or more earphones and keep the "winner".  Well, I'm not in that boat (and I'm sure many others aren't either), but then again, even if I was, I'm not one to operate like that. Because I stay in such a () place, I cannot sell my used items that I no longer need or ones I don't like. I could try selling locally, but the people here don't bite (not for such pricy earphones at least). I can go on eBay, but courier fees are ridiculous that it's not worth it.

Why am I mentioning this?  Well, I kind of decided to pack the DN-2002s away and sell, despite my "locational situation".  I have advertised locally but only 10 or so views and nothing.  I am going to the UK in December and so decided to bring them along and sell on eBay while there.  But I don't think I should spend my time there trying to sell something.

So what I've done is I opened up the box again and told myself to just accept the DN-2002s and to try. And I generally will put the idea of using "high-end", "exclusive", "quality" earphones in front of realising a fit issue.  So what happened with the DN-2002s? Well, I think I read too much and sucked in people's complaints and made them my own.  Now then, what are my complaints exactly?  Well, I previously mentioned that I do get a seal, which I do, but what I think got me was the fact that the fit didn't (doesn't) feel secure.  Also, these have bass, but not as I'm used to on the DN-1000 and DN-2000.  So, couple the "less" bass with a fit that's not feeling all too secure; result: your mind tricks you and you assume a poor seal. Now throw in some other people's complaints and what do you get?  Well, it's an undesired outcome.

So, I can't say these are uncomfortable for me in any way.  But I will say they do not feel secure enough in the ears.  Also, switching the speakers around provides a good alternative over/behind-the-ear solution (using the left speaker in the right ear and vice versa).  I shouldn't need to, but perhaps I must point out that the cables must still be correctly matched - right cable, right ear...

I'm not saying, "wait, I made a mistake" and that the fit is awesome.  I'm saying what I've always said: I get an "unsecure" seal.  Unsecure as in the earphones FEEL (note the word "feel") a little like they need something to keep them there.  I just felt I needed to clear up or "fine-tune" my opinions a bit now that I've used these a bit more.  Also, I have no intention to "burn" DUNU - I am a DUNU fan of course.

So, ergonomics is a little issue (but I should emphasize - not for everyone). For me these work as they should. And for the price, I'll damn-well make sure these work.  I'm using these now and they are stealing my heart slowly.

Oh yes, I didn't mention, but if you look at the photo, DUNU must have changed their website address

Cheers

I was just about to throw away another $30.00 for a 5 pack of Large Comply TX500 Eartips. My last identical order was placed in May, so they barely lasted 6 months. DUNU had graciously sent an assortment of silicone eartips to me but since I was already in the hole for the first Comply order, I never tried all of the additional assorted tips, until yesterday. To my surprise, the new DUNU assortment included a pair of black silicone monster sized dual flanged tips that allowed the 2002 to shine. Gone was the mediocre fit (even with the Comply) and marginal sound, to now, a truly stellar IEM. I received my Dunu 2002 around the initial release, so I'm not sure if the monster tips are part of the supplied eartips assortment now. If you do have fit/SQ issues, I would suggest contacting DUNU and see if they can supply the Black assortment (which included the monster tips), so you can fully enjoy your 2002 without compromise.

Hmmm
Can you take a photo?   I don't recall getting any dual-flanged tips.  Maybe they came with my other DUNU sets.
