Has anyone had success creating an external playlist for the N5 using software similar to MusicBee? (It's a lot like Winamp used to be.) What steps did you take? My folder setup for my main music files is identical to what I set up on the N5. I did a test playlist, and the N5 sees it on the card, but can't find the tracks. Thanks for any help!
I figured this one out on my own. If anyone else is using MusicBee (or similar) here are the steps for creating a playlist.
In MusicBee, browse the files on the player (not the computer).
Add songs to your playlist. MusicBee will create a Playlist folder in the root folder of the card you're using.
Once you're finished, pull the playlist out of the Playlist folder and drop it directly in the card's root folder.
That's it, it should work perfectly.
I'm a happy camper now!
Thank you for putting the solution afterwards. Should be helpful for some people !
Greatly interested in N5, even though I am still thinking about which DAP I would chose - I want to upgrade from my 4 year Cowon J3.
Please can someone describe how sound the N5 with the last firmware to his / her ears ? I read that the last firmware changed the sound.
More specifically, how do you find N5 sounds on different styles, from pop to orchestral epic via vocal based sounds ? I read that the soundstage is quite lateral, and may sound a little bit "different" in comparison with "conventional" DAPs with songs with a very charged soundstage (e.g. Orchestral, Metal, etc. with a lot of instruments in the same frequency ranges)
Moreover, I know that it is a very tricky question but I have ordered Cosmic Ears CE6P and was wondering how they would sound with N5 (generally speaking) ? (Even though that nothing can replace testing by oneself but maybe one has some hints)
Those CIEM are described as being quite balanced with a slight of warm / darkness on all the frequency range, with great mids (particularly lush vocals).
I am searching for (the very subjective) "emotion" and a "lively" sound for my next upgrade.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks !
