No, AK380 is too rich for my blood.

I use a few iBasso units like DX50, DX90, Lotto PAW 5000, also a nice dac/amp made by Tralucent. My Ref.1 is single ended (normal 3.5mm plug) same with 1Plus2. The 2.2 I have is running a balanced cable I use with PAW 5000 and Cayin N5 if I like.

A few of the others are using AK380 and run balanced full-time.

Which sources are you thinking of using for your Ref.1?

The new Tralucent copper cable I'm using balanced on 2.2 sounds extremely good.

Sounds like silver but with nice note weight throughout the mid-range.

I won't need to upgrade that cable on 2.2.

i have a ted allen balanced cable occ, what would be the downside using it with my upcoming ref1 balanced with ak380 and amp

is the ref1 so cable specific that no other cables are good to work with ref1

i am considering a new cable in the future , but i like also to know my concern above

Pretty sure I've posted this track before, its one of my favourite Queen tracks with Ref.1.

Actually the entire Innuendo album because its well mastered.

Just need to be careful edging out the volume as the electric guitars on the left/right channels may cause early fatigue.

The clarity in Freddies voice though is nuts.

Will need to have @spkrs01 respond to this but years ago with the original 1Plus2's, they used to use 0.77mm pins (wired Westone styled) rather than usual 0.78mm. Whether subsequent Ref1, Ref1 Toos, 1Plus2.2, & Plus5 still stick to the 0.77mm, spkrs01 will have to share with us.

0.78mm pins either Rhodium or Gold plated depending on cable, with one pin longer........
