May worth a try. There is only 1 thread about these headphones, there are people who dislike the CAL! too. Who knows this Panasonic may turn up to be a hidden gem
BUY BUY BUY!! LOL

I have both the EMU Walnut and the Panasonic RP HX700R which is the Japanese version of the HX650. I still prefer the Walnut because it seemed like there is a mid bass bump and resonance distortion in the bass area of the Panasonic

I've certainly had some "wow" moments with the North American 650 version.
They seem to like as much power as you can give them, plus the obvious best source you can.
Thinking about going in and microporing up the cup vents to see what happens there.
I know of 2 others here who have them also they may or may not post.
Got mine for $50 CDN locally, but one of the other guys I know said they saw them for ~$20 on Amazon somewhere...

They are a Fostex OEM by the way not sure if that was mentioned yet.

At the low price below $50 it's a good driver supply for any projects.
I don't mind them at all stock though given a good quality file feed :)
Appearance seems a little flimsy but they have held up just fine and at least are lighter.
