The biggest news since the beats buy out by Apple is the release of the new beats solo2's!

I'm off out later to see if I can pick up a pair and get back to post my first impressions.

Anybody beats dre to it - go for it!

By the look of these beauties, they look like a mini scaled down version of the new beats Studio 2.0's - let's hope they have a similar sound to them - I'll be posting my impressions ASAP :)

It's 7am here in the UK at my time of writing this, so I've a 2 hour wait before stores open and maybe even longer if they are awaiting stock delivery, and I know these are already available in the US from first video below, so the race for first solo2 impressions starts - now!

So, who'd of thought Apple would buy beats and have dre and Jimmy on the pay roll?

Not me, I like many was pretty surprised, but when you look at it - it makes perfect sense - beats is a massively successful headphone and speakers company with its own beginnings of a music streaming service which Apple speculate is going to be the future trend of music delivery, away from current downloading and playback through an mp3 device or smartphone that they currently dominate in.

Early examples of how this streaming revolution is exampled by the likes of streamz (http://www.streamzmedia.com/p-7-streamz.aspx) who have their own headphones capable of delivering music streamed directly into the headphones, negating the need for a separate device, so its clear to see why beats was such an attractive proposition in Apple buying beats which in itself is a massive departure from how Apple have done business historically, ie innovating current hardware themselves and then dominating the market.

Apple knew full well that buying beats rather than taking them on head to head was by far the best if not only sure fire road to success in potentially dominating future sales of stream capable headphones.

Can't wait for the impressions :)

I'm still not sure if buying Beats was a smart move, I've always had the feeling that the Beats brand was dying lately, it's rare in the Netherlands to see a non-monster Beats..

Dying?

Dude, they've just been bought out by Apple for $3 billion USD, and part of the attraction to Apple was beats year upon year sales growth and huge potential for future growth with their streaming music content service - beats ain't dying - they're are thriving - big time! :)
