Audeze LCD-2 Orthos

As I have stated repeatedly, the only thing that makes the LCD2 still worthy of keeping after coming into possession of the SR009, is the mid range creaminess. The show environment was not perfect, but it was enough to observe how it deviated from the Rev 1. And IMO, it is no longer the LCD2 I liked - or, it has lost that touch to make it worthy to be kept by me, someone who actually owns and listened to the SR009.

That follow-up perfectly summarizes what the majority of rev.2 owners have tried to convey in the last 200 pages. Too bad it'll soon be buried and the detractors will resume the same tired routines.

I believe the follow up is much in line with my initial impression  of the R.2 when the r.2 was first released.

just tried rev.1 with WA 6 SE with my new tubes. 6EM7 > 6EA7 (The newest one on Woo. audio for WA 6 SE).

God ****! These tubes are killing me!!!!Soooooo much better than the old tubes.. For instant I thought my rev.1 sounded completely different. The new tubes make rev.1 easier to drive on WA 6 SE. Everything is more defined and aggressive (in a good way)

The most important part! The bass! The bass is back!...So much tighter and well controlled than my old tubes...

So for anyone saying LCD 2 and WA 6 SE is a bad pairing. give it another try on the newest tubes :) I just got sublimed!

Thanks, I'll be reading this.

So, you purchased these directly from Woo Audio on their site? Maybe I have not woken up yet, but I don't recall very much said here about the 6EM7 and 6EA7 tubes. (As I also have a WA6SE and LCD-2 r.1, your enthusiastic post has, of course, piqued my interest!)

Went back to the r1 a couple of days ago, and they'll stay on the head for some time. Will pick up the r2s again in some time.

BTW: This thread seems to have fallen a sleep (that's a good thing). Maybe the upcomming r3 will waken it again?

You forgot the "

Are you speaking of this tube?

Drive/Power tube option 1:
1 matched pair of 6DN7/6EM7 plus one pair of 6DE7->6EM7 Teflon tube adapters. $110 (2 tubes + 2 adapters)

I am. I don't know why it says different on the box. but it's the one with adaptors that's right. The biggest difference is I can hear more details. breathe - like details.

I also got the 6FD7 tubes. they are good too. bt Not as much details as these.

Premature? Well, that's the nature of rumors isn't it. Besides, the r3 is going to happen. Isn't it?

I'm finally getting my LCD2 back today. This past month has been HELL and I actually got sick a lot of times August from the stress -- had to call in sick at on 4 different instances. But that's all behind me now.  I am going back to audio bliss today. Yay!

Too bad people can't get over their incessant tired need to try and convince other people that they are wrong because they are so fixated on being right.  Yawn.
