I have the same. Strangely, the manufacturer claims 3.5 hours. At the same time, it plays for me under the stated conditions for 8 hours, but not 9,

Man, this is really unexpected. A couple of months ago, I sold my SP2000T. The DAP is really good with it's sleek and custom UI. One of the most refined daps that I have owned But it's sound always left me wanting for more. It never satisfied me with it's sound quality. I'm not sure why I always felt it was underpowered and restricted in sound quality. I should have tried some amp (PA10) on it. In the end, it's matter of taste.

Compared my sp1000 to the sp2000t using the u12t and the sp1000 is still a better sounding dap. Its clearer, cleaner, has more air, better soundstage and better rendered trebles (not as harsh). The sp1000 is truer to life and it digs deeper and more sincerely into recordings.
The sp2kT has a slight veil on the sound and its extremes sound more artificial.
When it comes to the AK, the flagship is the flagship, everything else has a noticeable limitations.

The SP2000T is more of a gimmick. It's more about tricking the audiophiles with those fancy red and green led lights. I always regret buying it. Had to sell it off at a dirt cheap price and had not even used it properly.

I couldn't disagree more. The 2000T is a wonderful player with plenty of power and a tube to boot. I don't think it's quite as perfect as my 1000 SS when set to "normal," but I love the tube effect and the filters. I have a neutral IEM (EE Zeus) and using Hybrid at 1/2 or full Tube with different filters gives me lots of choices for sound.

And I immediately turned off the colored lights, which just indicate which mode you are in.

I've had an AK 120 ll, a 240 SS, the 1000 SS and the 2000T. The T is a wonderful player that does not try to trick audiophiles. At least it doesn't try to trick me.

I would still say - sound wise there are a lot of better players at much cheaper price than SP2000T. It’s a good finished device but in terms if sound it’s far behind.

Considering the fact that you can buy a used sp1000 for less, it completely doesnt make any sense to go for a even used sp2kt. The battery life, the sound quality, the form factor are all superior on the sp1000. Even the ui works similar on both. The sound is more mature, cleaner, more spacious and more balanced on the spk1.
All these things make the sp2kt a questionable product to me. Is it a great dap? Yes it is but as mentioned above, there are other daps that outperform it in this price range, where the sp1k still sounds better than most current daps from 1-2k dol price range.

I remember buying Cayin N6ii at a one third price, some 2-3 years back. That to me sounded better than SP2KT. I had owned Lotoo Paw 6000, which is priced bit more than N6ii, also sounds better than SP2KT. At nearly half price you can now a days get Sony WM1AM2 which is much much superior device in terms of sound, battery and overall Android implementation. It’s a day and night difference. Add 500usd to price of SP2KT, you can buy a Sony WM1ZM2, a device which even beats the AK Flagship SP3000.

What more comparisons should I throw?

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone in here knows how to open up this player? I've been searching online but can't find anything. I'm asking because my FF button on the player broke and I'm not even going to bother asking how much astell & kern is going to charge to fix their shoddy player. I'm out of warranty btw

You can ffw from. the screen. I know it takes away from just using the buttons, but it might be a short-term workaround.

Does anyone know if you can adjust the line out voltage on the SP2000T? I've read on other threads where AK DAP owners have switched between two different line out voltages, but I do not see anything about that in the user manual for the SP2000T. If it is possible to reduce the line out voltage from 4V to something less I'd like to try it. Anyone know if that's possible?
