Yes, thanks... but a bit too nice to power just HE-6 :) It's was because lack of speakers I did try it with HE-6. And I liked it that much, that I didn't want to invest in new loudspeakers that quick. But it's more social to listen to music together instead of having my headphones on my head all the time! But still, I'm a "headphone-lover".

@pam005

I had the EF-6 on loan with my HE-6. I think you are going to be very happy with that combo. Ye gods! a Nagra MPA. That's 250w. I hope you used the HE-Adapter with that or some form of resistor?

I use the EF-6 to power my HE-6's and am very happy....it also has a very good effect on my HD-800 and T1's....curiously enough I don't really see the same extra positive effect with the LCD-2.2's....they sound good but no better than on my Conductor....

No, the LCDs don't have the same scale as the others but they do sound good on a quality SS headphone amp.

I agree, it will very likely be a futile effort to find one amp to work really well for both HD800 and LCD 2 and the same applies to HE-6 and LCD-2. While the big sound works really well on HE-6 from my Mini Torii amp, it just seems to lack the finesse on the LCD-2. On the other hand, my Audio-gd master 8 is able to work its magic on the LCD-2, but just sounds too meek on HE-6 despite having a higher power rating than the mini torii. Speaking of synergy at work.

On my speaker amp the HE6 sings, but the HD800 and the LCD2 did not improve at all with the extra power.

Well, I've owned the LCD-2.2 for a while.  They don't have a high celling at all.  Also, they sound pretty good on just about anything.  This headphone is know as the "amp person" because she will play well with just about anything.  If you have a amp that pairs well with the HD800s chances are that same amp will pair well with the LCD-2.2s.  Although it may be overkill - the same goes with a amp that sounds good with the HE-6.

This is from my experiences and IMO.

My Master-6 is far from meek with the HE-6's. In fact although they both sound excellent I prefer the HE6 to the LCD2.2's.

What source are you using?  Have you upgraded the HE6 stock cable?

Upgrading the cable seriously made a massive difference to the HE6's in my system.

I sat down today and finally got my notes into something more cohesive...
