The Who, Live at Leeds (Remastered).
Arguably one of the best live albums ever... This is raw rock and roll, and the band at its best. If you've ever seen the young Daltry, Townsend and Moon play (Entwhistle just hid in the background), this is the ultimate live set. The newer version includes the complete live version of Tommy, so it's a double CD.
Springsteen and the E Street Band, Live at the Hammersmith Odeon.
Released a year or so ago, great live show, also captured the pre-rock star Bruce and the boys.
Asleep at the Wheel: Tribute to Bob Wills
Rocking country swing, not a bad song in the bunch.
The Beatles...When We're 64
I got this collection (some 30-plus songs) from newsgroups, and I can't find it anywhere. It's obviously a bootleg, but it has some of the most unreal cuts of early Beatles, including a demo (voice and guitar) of Harrison singing Something that can bring tears to your eyes. Lucky to have it, but I can't find it listed anywhere. I wonder if that is even the real name, but the songs, they are most definitely real. All seem to be retakes, alternate versions, etc. A treasure for any Beatle diehard.
Where's the Money? Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks. Another great live set, but one of the most musical unknown bands.
In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning.. Frank Sinatra. Old Blue Eye' best studio album.
Groove Armada, The Best Of. A fantastic collection.
Desperado, The Eagles' definitive concept album for courtry-rock.
Lush Life, The Music of Billy Strayhorn (artist is Joe Henderson). Great jazz CD.
