Actually, it takes longer to get to Naperville than to Chicago because there is no direct route from Urbana to Naperville. The fastest route to Naperville is that you get on 294 and skirt around Chicago, then get on I-55 to go back down South. The other option is to go west of Naperville on I-80 and then go back east on I-55 but this takes longer (this all from the perspective of going to Naperville from Chicago). Chicago's faster because you have a straight shot on down on I-57. If yoiu want specific directions from Naperville (I'm from there) I can easily give them to you. The general directions are to just take I-57 South to I-74 East and then get off on Lincoln and proceed as I mentioned previously. I don't suggest taking I-55 down from Naperville to I-74 (the two link up in Bloomington) because it goes too far west to be faster than taking 294 to 57.

There are pcmcia pci cards, but I'd rather not spend $30 for one.

There's an ancient gateway laptop in the garage with windows 98, maybe that would work?

I'll bring my Dell 600M. It's a fairly new midweight laptop. The soundcard on it is *awful* so I'd love to hear a better one. Unfortunately, the USB DAC and amp that I'm currently building I do not expect to have finished by the time of the meet

I guess I'll have to show that off at a later date.

edit: and if you're going to be firing up the grill then I think we definitely need some Johnsonvilles! Nothing beats a good Johnsonville!
