Wow.. I've never seen a module priced higher than the main unit.

I'm a bit confused with BT functionality.  What does extended range BT mean, exactly?  Is Chord using AptX HD?

I'm thinking that this will turn my MoJo into a stand-alone DAP using a micro SD card?

Tell me about it. I'm not seeing any value proposition at that price either, I don't understand what makes it so expensive.

I was really intrigued and thought of getting myself a MojoPoly combo....before seeing the price!

The mark-up must be... Intense.

On the Poly thread and at CanJam NYC Chord mentioned that the reason it costs more is because the tech involved actually made it cost more to manufacture than the Mojo, and they seem to like referring to it as a mini super computer instead of an adapter, even though it is... an adapter, with many other functions aside from making the Mojo wireless. Like you can throw it towards a would-be attacker's head at night, as the aluminium chassis is sturdy enough to inflict some damage if your aim is good enough. It's also sturdy enough to prop up your car in case you need to change a tire. Or it can be a high tech beer coaster, as the tech inside was developed by the Jet Propulsion Lab at NASA.

Sure. A mini super computer that can only be used if you have or buy a Mojo, otherwise it would be only a piece of expensive hi-tech junk, developed by JP Labs and totally useless as such.

I don't see why they are not providing a cable so that you can use the Poly with any dac. After all, it's just a micro usb connection to the Mojo that transports digital audio. The other connector is only power. There's nothing mojo-specific about the Poly. Even the volume control does not actually control the mojo volume, just the poly volume (according to Chord at CanJam).

If they marketed it as a lossless wireless transport for any DAC, the price would be a bit more palatable.

Actually John Franks has said there is nothing stopping Poly from connecting to any dac given the right cable ofcourse.

How many DACs have you seen with this kind of twin micro-usb connections, regardless of the cable??

Only one of them is audio .The other one is power to charge the mojo. So theoretically, a usb cable connected to the audio slot should be sufficient for any dac. Not the prettiest solution though.
