GROUP BUY: Alessandro MS-2s
Sep 9, 2004 at 3:50 AM Post #91 of 290
Beleive me this is as frustrating as it is to you, as it is for me - we are all waiting for these awesome cans!!!

Either way the minute we get them we are drving to the nearest post office, slapping the address labels I have already filled out on them, and sending them away. Rest assured alessandro is the one slowing this down, not me or lennonsbug.

I thank you all for your patience, I'm really trying my best (so is lennonsbug).

Umm....the wait will make it that much better when you finally receive it??? (trying to cheer you up)

Yeah it always happens to me when getting something really great. Always would have problems happen before truly get to enjoy the thing. But no matter what I'm happy for you for getting MS-2's and please be sure to post impressions after having got the phones!

Excellent!! All cans are sold, paid for (for the most part, some special arrangements have been made), and all the priority mail labels are filled out. The boxes are ready.

For your information all shipping will be insured and with confirmation, so no worries there. The minute I receive these cans from Alessandro, will be the minute those fine men and women in the blue uniform will be taking them to your abode.

Thank you once again for your help in facilitating this buy, and your patience.

For those of you keeping track, this thread has been up for exactly two weeks, the earliest the headphones will be at your doorstep will be one more week, the latest two more weeks. To recap - one full month to sell a group buy of 11 headphones, for a total savings of $825. I think that is not too shabby myself (at least for my first transaction like this).

Next time, so it doesnt seem as if you are waiting as much, I will not ask for payment until the merchandise reaches my doorstep - I did not want to take this risk on my first buy (being stuck will $alot in debt, and with too much merch), but I realize now how reliable and trustworthy people are on these boards. Im sorry for my doubts, and this will mean all further trades / buys done by me will be pay=ship the same day.

I agree - I expect 10 new impressions of the MS-2 on the boards soon - and call me Uncle Donkey if any of them are negative! (Caveat - give them flats from Todd and 40 hours of burn in first!)

I see you have already added the MS2's to your sig. You must be pretty confident that we'll have them soon.

It was mentioned that the fine people at Alessandro are working overtime to be able to fill this order. Kind of disturbing to think that they don't have 11 sets on hand and that an order of this size would cause them to have to work frantically to get it filled, but perhaps I just didn't realize what a small operation they must be. I hope that each one is made carefully and lovingly and that lack of sleep from working overtime doesn't mean our phones will have defects, LOL!

Alessandro is an actual person, and from what I have heard from him (on the phone) that its a pretty in-home operation - not a huge warehouse type deal. He designs custom amps for musicians such as eric clapton etc. so it seems an order, i build, you wait type of store (at least in philly).

I am very confident these phones will be in my posession soon, as it will be for everyone in the buy. I would rather finish this transaction first, before thinking of a second buy (even though I have a much better idea on how to complete it quickly), but it is a definate possibility.
