The Official Sony NW-WM1Z/ NW-WM1A Flagship DAP (Live From IFA 2016)

On the french tellementnomade forums, I remember a post saying that going from 100 to 120, each steps increased volume more than below 100. Coul you comment on that?

I plan to go directly to the Sony repair center in my region which is 10min away from me once I receive my unit from Amazon.co.uk. I want to ask them explaining carefuly with as much rational sense to them about this whole issue, and see if they can adress it, maybe unlock it or heck might try to get it exchange with an international tourist unit to bypass the cap.

I'm really eager to try the Empire Zeus R with the WM1A, and see for myself if it hisses distractingly enough before I sell of my DP-X1.

It is true, it increase 2x as much per not up to my ears, and that is not all, the last 5 increase like 2.5x as much. But that was because I removed the headphones outa my head....LOL. I can only confirm that after 100, every increment is like 2x of those from 1-100

Wow, that would be funny.

Lol, as much as I have been following, reading and studying about Sony and it new Walkman....I even talk to friends overseas where Sony engineering team conduct live interviews and so on...

1/ only Euro Walkman unit get volume capped to comply to EU laws (facts: my WM-1Z Tourist version did not have the volume cap because it was significantly louder than Zx2 and it would get impossible to turn to 110 out of 120 with Z1R in balanced mode and while listening to it)

2/ there is no way to remove the volume cap from the factory.....(engineers advise to import if volume cap is an issue)

3/ Volume capped units shall have no high gain features

4/ Tourist units are ( International ) versions, and should have factory 1 year warranty in the other regions listed in Sony website. Owners pay for shippings both ways. Warranty cards come with the players in the box except
Malaysian version as Malaysia had never had Warranty card within their region or even with Tourist version (date of purchase is needed when warranty happen)

5/ Tourist version has multi-languages presets

6/ Japan only version has only Japanese and unique in capability to playback ATRAC.

7/ Single ended socket will support TRRS Balanced 3.5mm style from Hi-fi man. It shares the same polarity to hi-fi man and Zx2.

8/ Native DSD playback is possible by Digital out from WM port, or 4.4 balanced socket. 3.5 TRRS or single ended socket will convert DSD into PCM.

I don't know what else I am missing, but so far, those are about it

Wait, but does this mean the TRRS balanced will be balanced or single ended?

3.5mm TRRS is separate grounding for L/R channels, technically it is still single end.

Could you please tell me what is the authorized online dealer for WM1Z?
Thank you!
No exclusively online store yet. Sorry. Sony is going with hybrid stores first. Do you have a preference on which area you buy from? The West Coast is just The Source AV. On the East Coast it's Music to My Ear in PA and Natural Sound in MA. In Colorado it's Listen Up Denver. These are the first 4 up with a few more coming up soon. All of us can give you price and we all use PayPal and other payment options.

I am in New Mexico, so I can't go to anyone of them in person...... If they accept online transfer, it will be awesome!

You can use any of us you like. If you're in a hurry I believe we'll be the first to ship by a couple days.
