Thank you. Which means that Hifiman and upcoming iBasso DX200 are not really balanced?

Only Walkman higher end models are* using this as Separated grounds....hifiman and ibasso should be balanced....they are different company....only happens to share the same polarity arrangement for your cables good

Anyone able to tell me how the sound changes as the W1A burns in?

I must be around 150 hours so no yet at the recommended 200 hours mark.

I'd say mainly what changes for me is more open soundstage and micro dynamics, overall it's not night and day and it sounded great from day one. Not the same (radical) changes the Vega went through during that equivalent period.

The 1A or 1Z? I've noticed he's only posted the 1Z. Really looking to get a 1A
I do mostly post about the 1Z. It's because we as dealers will be able to deliver them this gear and many before xmas. Right now the 1A is scheduled for release late February to early March. With that said, we as a group have been in talks with Sony to release a month earlier. We've all logged the requests from you, the consumers and we believe because of your enthusiasm toward aquiring the unit we are very close in this campaign to getting it done. They can do it. It's now a matter of getting them to do it. Sony is a big group of companies. It's slow and very difficult to navigate through all the people making decisions. The good thing is the big multi-leg octopus is waking up and starting to come to understand reason in our efforts to get this stepped up and scheduled sooner. We would like to thank those of you helping us through this release and for your ability to be patient. This has been a very tough ride. So again thank for the support and the kind words. I promise the release team of stores will all be on their toes getting as much out before the holiday as we can. Sony sure didn't give us a lot of time to get it done but we'll give our best. ......FYI, had we left this to the big online guys you would not receive anything before the end of January. I was given that heads up by a few at the top of Sony NA today.

Have a great holiday!!

Thank you for letting us know.

@jason, any news regarding your information that every unit worldwide has the volume cap? I thought it was established that some have the high gain feature and some don't, not sure how that figures in.

I think that Jason was referring to the AVLS feature that all units have. As for the volume cap per se, it is only applied on the EU versions, which means that the EU versions do not have the High Gain setting.

But then Avsl is an option for the user and not "impossible to remove". You can turn on and off :)
