The mojos fat enough on its own please do NOT make the transport the same thickness. Height and width would be nice, but not thickness. And i think width matching is more important than height matching, so height should be the least critical dimension. I just think with all these requrements being asked theres gonna have to be compromises to size, especially with extraneous features like a touch screen. But quite a few people seem to want it.

Of course, you now realize this is asking them to make this thing ideally for use with a product that is competitive with one of fiio's own upcoming products. But i guess if it could stack cleanly with the mojo or q5, then its just a super awesome benefit.

this will not designed for any special device , we are not design " mojo partner "

Agreed! If the transport can be made similar to X7 and having amp+DAC modules on the other hand, you have a winner. The processing power would be super fast, and the ability to upgrade DAC amp in one module is outstanding.

Btw, I love the USB type C

That made me smile.

I like the idea of something that has a small slim factor, within reason. The X1 and X3 are about the Length and Width I wouldn't mind but not necessarily the thickness maybe something along the form factor of the Fiio M3

(Which would go well with my Mojo (disclaimer - other DAC's are also available))

That's less than half the thickness of the Mojo.

Yes, but that was before the proposed context of making the other dimensions comparable to the Mojo. You gotta expand somewhere dude and if its not height or width its gotta be depth. I figure theyre thinking something more tall and sleek like the X7.

The concept of this device is a transport. Not a top class audio preformer.
I feel like a lot of posts are trying to turn this transport idea into a DAP.
In my mind there is a difference between having limited audio player ability and being in the same category of a X3 or something.

Love this idea!

There are many ways to go, but even a Fiio M3 with optical and line out, bigger memory and a stacking kit would pretty much make my day right now. It would allow me to create a manageable Mojo+vorzuge pure 2 triple stack instead of going with the old ak100. Right now, AK is raking in some nice profit on all those old ak100s everyone is getting.

This will be a fantastic device. I can use it not only for my portable needs but to feed my desktop DACs as well. I hope this will materialise very soon...

All i'm really honestly hoping for here is something with some form of digital output, usb or not, that costs about the same as the X1, but can't make sound without an external DAC.

If it's more or as expensive as the cheapest Fiio DAP with digital output there's no point.

I think the point is capacity , a high capacity transport does not exist in the market apart from a couple of desk top server type machines
Word is a certain consumer electronic giant is about to release a range of 2.5" ssd with 2 , 4 , 8 and 16 TB
Imagine a 16TB transport in your pocket

I think it strange that people want to turn a potential revolution into a cheap dap

A device that takes a 2.5" drive is going to be huge. The majority of people as the poll states prefer dual standard SD - a few years after this device is released, SD will still be around, and larger capacities will be cheaper, which seems to me more future proofed than something that takes a 2.5" SATA.

I believe James is saying that they'll use full sized SD cards, not micro SD cards.
