Some folks think I wanna control the corner. They can let that go now. I will only accept lists from folks listed or other known bassheads who are respectful and mature and open to alternate opinions. This thread is under watch now so I am smiling at the camera. I ain't stupid cuz

The door is open.
My list goes first. If that's too much for folks they can peep that gif again.
This is aaaaaaall about the viewers both members and non. They get a variety to choose from. I will add a bio to my list about me and I advise others to do the same to give the viewer some reference to who exactly is making the list they are reading and maybe find a person with like tastes.

What!?  Nah, nah, nah....

I call meeting to the heads of each of the five families.

(insert gif here, I don't have a good one)

We voting on this ****.

Any plans to add a top 5 or so basshead dac/amp to complement the lists? Or is Mojo the only acceptable option overall?

Jam started a thread up, though not too active just yet: http://www.head-fi.org/t/793087/the-best-portable-amp-for-bass-is-the-extreme-basshead-club

You use Turbo mode on the iFi with IEM? I am now and the 800st are ******* nuts.

Layout will be roughly like this:

The 10 Best....(impact)

Hawaiibadboy's list

1.  Sony MDR EX800ST/ 7550 *taped vent

+ 500mW max input. Studio tuned, mids stay relatively clean with elevated bass
- Need to tape vent, stock cable SUCKZ

2. Sony  Z5

+ Massive upper bass and crisp highs
- un tuned bass will bleed into mids (needs EQ)

3. Aurisonics ASG 2.5 *100% open port

+ Bass tune able via dial
- mids get clouded with 100% open port,treble roll-off

4. Sony xb90ex

+ great bass,stage, mids,price
- Needs an amp,no earhooks

5. Kumitate Lab KL-REF

6. 1964 Audio U8

7. Audio Technica ATH-CKS1100

8. Sony  MDR EX1000 <<<<Personal favorite

+ huge stage, extreme eq and amp ability with minimal effect on mids
- Fit is difficult (tips), must use an amp and must use EQ

9. JVC HA-FX1100

+ bass, stage,mids
- Fit is difficult

10.Yamaha EPH M200

+ bass ,mids
- treble roll off, Expensive

 Gear used:

ifi Micro iDSD (Full turbo mode)

Eq's Used:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
All IEM

EX 1000 only

About Me:

Came from car audio and am an SPL freak. I use a iFi Micro in "Turbo" mode which is rated at 4000mW @16 ohm. I use the eq's in the images above. I love Hip Hop but am also a big classic rock fan. The Ex1000 are my "go to" set for their ability to play my 2 favorite genre' exceptionally. If you use different gear and different settings your results will be different.

I love bass and I love mids and I love clarity and staging

Bass>>staging>>mids>>clarity in that order.

I thought the Forte's bass hit exactly like the Kicker with better sounds across the spectrum in every way.

If have been very curious to test the Forte against the 2.5. In terms of bass I know the 2.5 reigns supreme though I am still interested in how they compare in the rest of the ranges

I really hope that the 2.5 is superior as I own the Fortes and they got me hooked on dynamic drivers. Thus I have now bought chillaxings 2.5's and am currently getting them reshelled as customs, without even having heard them:)

I will compare and pass on my findings

I should have spent more time with those when I had a chance at the store. Is that upper bass super humped sounding without EQ?

My gig is pushing stuff until they lose the mids. Same as I did with overears. They do have a natural midbass hump but if I move the eq to sub bass and pull it way up it slams. I was totally wrong about that set. Shows the difference between demo'ing and owning.

Yeah I learned that lesson recently too- takes some time to really learn something for better or worse- can pop in the store and two weeks later I wonder "What was I even hearing?"... or I hate it at first and then suddenly it clicks after I give it some time.

For me I think it depends on the IEM how much midbass I can take- couldn't stand ie80, loved fx850, G10 not so humped but I liked how it did the transition, 2.5 either, once I found my levels.

Have a dac/amp for my phone coming soon so I can try out y'alls Neutron settings w/ ex1000 (swapping out old for some new hype because I never learn

If he can see the first post in the thread most all of the IEM will work with that.  xb90ex would be the cheap but good quality 1st option or the AD01 in my opinion
