Maybe not good to compare vs. IEM. More of an HP presentation. I'm thinking it's similar to Fidelio L1's bass and mids but with more clarity and extension up top. What do others think?

Spending more time with the Pono-balanced Zen's today, and am extremely happy with what I am hearing...
Its consistent with reports I have read on other headphones going balanced with the Pono. More organic, better separation, better detail (but not piercing, uncomfortable detail).
I re-iterate....the Pono's synergy with the Zen is uncanny, and its only enhanced by going balanced.

I can't wait to receive mine. I am patiently awaiting/jumping out of my skin for them. Unreal that the Zen can get even better.

BTW, a pair of Monk were in the box with my reterminated Zen. As soon as I get the cajones to take my Zens out of my ears I will be giving them a listen...a quick test of them promised great things though. @zhibli06 is onto something amazing here. He's dropping hits left and right at the moment...

Now we just need to get more headfiers to try these. Buds have been given such a bad reputation that a lot of people dismiss them out of hand. We need to change that!
