The non removable cable is a deal breaker for me.

It almost became a deal breaker for me as well.

Fortunately, the SQ punches above its price point.

Great review @vlenbo ! Wish you could get the CKR10 to compare with this. XD Anyway, I like the picture where the garden was use as the background.

Which was something out of the norm.

I also wanted to compare it to the ckr10s, since it is also getting quite the rave comments from the CKR thread. I am sad that my budget is lower than I wanted it.

Thanks, this garden was one of the few ideas I had for layering.

Man, I'm really getting tempted by these as an upgrade form the GR07, but I'm also holding out for the VSD7 which is around the same price. WHAT DO.

Purchase it now, don't regret it later. I'll force more comments about this ckr9 with my gang if necessary.(Jk)

Best bet is to wait for at least 10 impressions from the VSD7. Then after comparing notes to the ckr9s and VSD7, you decide which you'll purchase. Happy listening!

I love these, the mids are so damn sweet... I own several nice pairs of phones and these sound truly incredible, especially for the price. That being said, waiting can't hurt as Vsonic is an awesome company

+1, the mids are silky smooth and liquidated to a controlled fashion.

The ck10s were lacking in thickness and warmth compared to this in-ear, but it did sound liquifying as well. Now, this ckr9 I would deem a successor to the ck10 and im02s, while staying true to the timbre of instruments and beating both in-ears in the imagery.

They look rather bulky I wonder how they would fit in a small ear?

I wish I could answer that for you. I do not think it'll be comfortable though, since they are pretty big, but not as bad as kef.

Excellent review indeed!  Fantastic writing too :)

Thank you.

I want to buy the ATH-IM02 instead, for the removable cable, will i be losing alot of SQ in comparison to Ckr-9?

Not even, just the loss of bass quantity and a forwarded treble is what you'll hear.

ATH-CKR9 price is dropped to 15,800 yen, which is about 150$ without ship!

Are they still the best we can get at < 200$?

Thats a damn good price. Yes I was the one who said they are the best sub $200 iem but I also stated that it was to my preference just to make it clear before someone comes bashing lol I really do find it hard for people to not like the ckr9s unless the highs are too much for them.

If you decide to go for them do post your impressions here. Goodluck mate
