I'm still playing with the EQ myself off of this to see if i can get some nice bass hits without completly disrupting the mids and treble lol.

I definitely had something extremely similar to this in the process of EQing them. What I settled on hovewer is 2k a notch above 4k, while 16k below both of them (it's still above 8k). The peak is at 1k. If you want more bass without disrupting the mids, try and give them some nice boost at 32hz, but at the same time reduce 62hz if you notice mid-bass starting to sound too dark. The trick is that you should be aiming for "flat" frequency response (compensating when looking at original FR graph) only in certain isolated freq ranges (thus you can't rely exclusively on the graph since altering any given frequency changes the way the other ranges sound as well), the sub-bass and/or mid-bass are certainly the last ones you want to make flat if you are in this thread. :)

After several weeks of taking up residents in bass heaven disaster has struck. I was listening to my SZ2000's yesterday and accidentally got the cord snagged on a bathroom drawer handle. Now my right driver is out :frowning2:  I'm exploring several options on what to do next. On another note. Anyone that has just the stock pads try cutting some coaxial cable about the diameter of the cups and placing it inside the pad. It will give you the extra space between the driver and your ear to really make these cans shine. I bought some replacement pads but this worked out much better.  Someone in this post mentioned this tip earlier so shouts out to them.

Dude that sucks! Go check the SZ thread as a person has just done a removable cable mod.
