That's one nice looking dap and it seems extremely pocketable. What dac chip is it based on? I'm looking for a portable dap since I only have the CL stack currently.

It really is very pocketable.
I honestly don't know what DAC it is based on, I bought it after an audition, so those details weren't important to me at the time as I had liked what I heard.  That being said I cannot find specifics on it anywhere.

At its price point it is great if you can overcome the quirks

I have both uber and silver (v2).  My headfi gears are...AK240/Wagnus Epilson/Ref.1

My experience is that uber delivers a more civilized sound with much proper spacing & images between instruments/vocal.  The silver might give an impression that it has more bass but in fact the low end of silver is a bit boommy or muddy than the uber.  I'm using both cables as the silver serves on-the-go while  uber stays in my office for office hour listening.

I hear the same thing when using the Sony hybrids and fake hybrids. The spiral dots definitely changed this aspect although the uber still is the better cable in every aspect but that shows more in the mids and upper frequencies imho.

I can only say that the Medium size were to small for me and got the large ones. Also recently they started to sell intermediate sizes (ML)If you look up on ebay there are some sellers that specify the diameter for each size. I guess, ear sizes is not to correlated with height but I'm 6 feet tall if that may help.

Ear size is a difficult one I think.  Medium or the ML size might be the way to go.

Made the 1Plus2 sound so open and yet the soundstage is very balanced with focus. The fit with them otherwsie was alway a bit fiddly. But these tips help to maintain better seal.

Thanks.  I'd definitely get these tips.

I don't use the 1Plus2 anymore (up for sale, see my listing) and the Ref.1 is my only IEM and I'm so so so happy with it.

I find them perfect. I really don't believe that the K10U or Layla can render this kind of bass having only BA transducers in their configurations but that's just a prejudice since I never heard any of them and still those might be very good. I only tried the TripleFi 10, Westone 4 and SE846 but neither of them rendered bass naturally with the last ones being the better ones. Guess a dynamic driver is a most for the low frequencies.

On the other hand tried the ASG 2.5 (BA + dynamic). I found them good but still lacking a bit of bass texture and there was no comparison on the sound stage department. The only ones I think have an equal bass quality are the Kaedes and EX1000 through different sounding. The Kaedes are more mid bass oriented while the EX1000 are more lean and low bass focused but both do have exceptional ability to texture on different layers on the lower frequencies.

Would be curious to hear from you guys if anyone has found a similar bass quality on BA-only iems.

I would have loved to keep the 1Plus2 but sold them recently, could not justify both Tralucents price wise. Imho they complemented perfectly the Ref 1, less low end a a bit more extended in the highs although the Ref 1 smoother highs are easier on the ears for long time listening sessions.

I owed two pairs of EX1000 in my early days of headfi and both were being sold.  Ex1000 is one great single drive IEM and once you are able to tame the spike in treble and it gives you endless enjoyment.

You have accurately identified the quality of bass, not about how much, but the texture of the low end is something the Ref.1 excel.  My latest experience was a pair of AKR03 Roxanne and I was trying to accept its difference in sound signature and at the end I gave up listening to it...it was that far off the Ref.1 IMHO.
