T-PEOS H-300 - 3 Way Hybrid Impressions and Appreciation Thread

My H-300's housing just got split appart like some one mentioned and the colored cable sleeve also broke, leaving the connector hanging with the internal wires.
Has any body successfully exchanged for warranty because of any of these issues?

Same thing happened to my pair. Contacted Sunggoo via email and they were quick about it. I sent them the broken earpiece and they sent a new one without waiting for the one I sent.

My colored cable also gave out...can only hear from the right. Good thing they sent two cables.

Thanks I just sent an email with the proper pictures.
I'm thinking about the coincidence with the hot weather that might be melting the glue used to fuse the 2 metal pieces

Altone200 is cheaper, has corrected treble and shares basically the same sound performance as H-300. Why on earth would anyone want to hang around here any longer.

Though for what's it worth I still use H-300,. I was only showing them off last night to some spectators, they're a daily runner atm from my iPod connected to SAP-5.

H300 with DX50 is rather bright. Surprisingly very good match with iPhone5/ IPad mini.

Good sources that work with H-300 for me are:

Sansa Clip Zip (rockbox) because you have a world of EQ options and beside that I think the synergy is already rather special.

DX50 + any of these amps:

Traucent T1
Topping NX1
Tralucent DacAmp One
SMSL SAP-5

Each of those seems to calm the problem treble to suitable levels.

And as I showed above the iPod Video with SAP-5 is especially nice, still a little bright, we're never going to take that away from H-300 (Altone isn't as bright) but the clarity, detail and soundstage with the iPod Video / SAP-5 pairing is brilliant. Plus, because I have rockbox installed on the iPod I can always just drop the treble 1-2db if need be.

I still say though Sansa Clip Zip and H-300 sound really really good together, I was using it full-time for a while.

Unsatisfied with the Altone 200's bass, I just ordered the H300.

You've basically just paid more money for the exact same dynamic driver, hotter treble and brighter tonality in a housing with detachable cables. (I know a lot about Altone and H-300) As you might know I own both, the bass is almost identical. I did mention to you in the Altone thread and via PM your Altone were defective. But good luck with it.

Yes, you've been extremely enthusiastic about the Altones from the start. But how about the following impressions:

Been too busy to give a short comparison between the h300 and Altone200.

IMO, the mids and highes are very similar with the 2 unit. The biggest difference between the 2 would probably be the bass. The bass on the H300 is BIGGER and STRONGER...

The bigger and stronger can be both a good thing or bad. Because of the stronger bass, it feels like the bass are closer to your ears than the mids and highes. So they kinda push the mids and highes back a bit from your ears. On the other hand, even though the bass on the Altone200 is not as strong, the quality of the bass is actually quite good. Punchy and impactful. Imagine being punched with a bare fist (Altone200) comparing to being punched with a boxing glove (h300).

Due to the less dominating bass, the mids and highes feels more on the same level as the bass on with the Altone200. H300 also have a slightly warmer sound signature than the Altone200.

Overall, they are both very detailed IEMs thanks to the 2 BA drivers; but with some differences in the bass. With the Altone200, I would describe it's signature as an "I" shaped signature, whereas on the other hand for the h300, the signature is more of an "L" shape.

Atm, I'm preferring more to the alight warmer and bassier sound of the h300. However, I also enjoy the slight colder and less bass dominating soud of the Altone200.

With their price at below 150 USD, I've never regretted buying the Altone200. It's definitely one of the favourite IEMs I own atm and I'll highly recommend them to anyone who's looking for a good pair of IEMs with top performance to price ratio.

Do you know for sure that they have the exact same dynamic driver? Or do you think that that must be so by comparing their sound?

Honestly I cannot recommend the Altones to anyone at this point. Some are apparently broken, though we don't know which. I can't say for sure if mine is broken. Yeah, the bass is not enough for my tastes, but is it a defect? Who knows. Some people who exchanged report great bass, some report some difference but not a lot. Sunggoo states if they were broken, the defect would be very obvious, and people stating some difference is due to placebo effect. It's a mess.
