I'm planning to meet up with Erik in the foreseeable future, then I'll finally know what the difference between universals and customs is. Prob is a safe route to go uni first but i can't imagine you disliking a custom Solar that much that you wouldn't want to keep it
Overall it is very full sounding with a good soundstage. With the standard cable it is a bit on the warm and bassy side, but it is quite balanced although a treble peak around 5 khz gives it an exciting edge making it more U-shaped. Electric guitars and EDM tones jump out a bit more.

Interesting. I'd have never expected rhapsodio to offer a custom version of the rti2 especially with the sound change with the different housings of metal vs acrylic ( universal vs custom ) and the difficulty of making DD CIEMs. Which is why there aren't many DD ciems around now. But glad to hear Sammy pulled it off.
Where on their page did you find it? Scrolled through all their pics but didn't see it, maybe I overlooked it. It looks really nice, but I'm guessing it's not a recent upload(?) so I'm not sure Sammy will offer it.. I've been following their pics since my Solar so I think I know all of their options

Is that a faceplate option? Thought you were joking and it was a carpet at first
There are also two other wooden faceplate options if that's what you're going for. Rhapsodio might not have a lot of options but at least they are free.. When I was looking into faceplate options for my 8.A something similar would have cost $150.
