Member of the trade just indicates a commercial seller, not a sponsor yet..

It feels strange ordering something (relatively) unknown but the three reviews on HF give impressions of Solar that align with my preferences...

... on the other hand, they almost seem too perfect. Initially when I read them, I was like...

Anyhow, time will tell!

Great and welcome over here!

I'm also very curious on your thoughts about Solar vs K10, as I know you have/had that one also
Please let us know later on...

Although I like to listen to both bands and think they've made some pretty good albums (U2 in the past), I get your point regarding popularity..
I still would love to hear/audition a K10 somewhere down the line though

K10 is a very, very enjoyable monitor to listen to but it won't be endgame for me.

The syrup swallows a little too much detail for me, and the soundstage/imaging just isn't there. But the mids, oh those mids...

i see the noble thread tendency to put images , has carried on here

i am just hoping you won't ask sammy to paint your ciems for a mere 1000$.... like i said this is the porcuine tree thread and we all know the kind of listeners that PT attract

Well imo Solar also has great mids (Metalboy even rated the mids with the full 100%) and unfortunattely I can't compare it to the K10s mids, but you can inform us with your opinion on that (and please do)...

I would throw you a handkerchief gif to dry up those tears, but I suppose proedros would get angry with me over here

Sorry about that...I just like gifs and will get in therapy for that

PT maybe doesn't attract many listeners (SW is imo a musical genius) but they're also a great live act. Did you know Anesthetize was recorded in this country?

like i said ,you are one smart person - and that's the kind of people whose opinion matters most to me - especially in here where hype rules

i know about anesthetize - been a PT fan since 1995
tongue.gif
, saw them live in 1997/2001/2005 and saw wilson solo live in 2013

i even went to a meet&greet and after shaking his hand , left him a Philip K Dick book (another GENIUS...) as a small thank you-get some mind**** back

Haha yeah I understand. Well, us Solar owners agreed with each others reviews so we don't mind
biggrin.gif

For what it's worth I love each and every one of my iems but the Solar is probably my favourite. It combines powerful bass with a full, beautifully coloured midrange and extended treble. Plus it's depth perception is really strong and I listen to all genres with it (well, the genres I listen to). I really can't think of anything I should be missing here

If I understand correctly it will take a short while before Sammy can make it, but can't wait to hear your impressions and comparisons when it's done; welcome to the club!

ps. Did you get the universal or custom?
