@UELong, these are clip on ferrite cores in plastic shell. you can order online as per the cable dis.

I understand and already have some.  I'd just like to know the best way to use them and how many and on which end to use them, or does it matter.  I put one on the end at the DAC.  Should I put one on the computer end, or am I making too big a deal over it?
Thanks guys.

They are also at your homeopathic health store, right next to the copper bracelets to combat arthritis!

Officially joined the club yesterday! I'm really happy with the small exception of the noisy Bluetooth connection (I use iPhone). The sound is top notch and reminds me a lot of my beloved m9xx, though much cleaner and (a little bit) bigger soundstage and much more accurate imaging.

Unfortunately, iDevices are poor sources with the Hugo. You only get SBC BT from them. I would strongly suggest/recommend an Apt-X source. Then you'll hear what the Hugo can do :)

+1. A17 with HUGO via Apt-X was as good as SD-USB. Only catch is to have the A17 very close to HUGO. Not a big deal, for the times you forgot to pack digital cables/adapters.

Sorry but I dont know as none have failed yet but the price will be reasonably low for a good quality none exploding type and the work to replace it.

That's being disingenuous.  There have been a few here on this thread and on the Naim Audio forum who have sent there Hugo's back to Chord for battery failure.  Many well before the three year warranty has expired.  In fact, the latest report is that Chord only covers the battery replacement up to 18 months.    Those that have had failure have been around 24 to 28 months.  Myself, I'm going onto 30 months, no problems, but I only use mine as a desktop.  I'll be replacing my batteries with the LPS-1 unit from Uptone.

Don't get me wrong, love the product from Chord but I don't think folks should be misled, just call it like it is.  Supposedly the charge is about 100 pounds for battery replacement in the UK but others have reported getting them replaced gratis.

Mine just got back from Chord's authorized service center after battery replacement. They charged me INR 2200 (approx $34) for battery + service.
Mine is around 2 years old, bought it used from classified here. Two others had reported the same symptoms in this thread, warranting battery replacement.
It was a great service from Chord's dealer, here in Bangalore. Happy as a clam, now that HUGO is back in action.

Hope we don't run out of spares from CHORD, as HUGO ages.

same batteries are available from other manufacturers also. these batteries come with and without protection circuitry. in future if the original battery not available, batteries form other manufacturers can also be used imho. these batteries I think are affected by prolonged heat . so switching off the hugo after use is not a bad idea specially in countries like India where temperatures can rise to high levels.

So I need to explain why native DSD is a bad idea inside the DAC. Firstly, Hugo needs to see the original file that you can get hold off, so if it was originally PCM, use that, if it was DSD, feed that to Hugo via DoP. So my comments about native DSD apply about inside the DAC, something people do not see.

Does this rule apply for the 2qute as well? For some reason I find that SACD rip DSD files sent via DoP to 2qute sound great. 24/88 flac rip of the same file sounds decent but not as good as the DSD DoP. However what I don't understand is that if I play any redbook 16/44 flac cd rips, they sound 'better' to my ears if I use the JRiver on the fly DSD128 conversion, then DoP to 2qute. I'd like to try to understand why this is...?
