Chord Hugo

anyone has any issues so far with the bluetooth on the hugo occasionally stuttering/dropping out?

depends what you mean by 'dropping out'... if I have the Hugo close to the transmitting source (Sony ZX2 in my case) I don't have a problem whatsoever, if I get a problem it is when I move too far away from the ZX2 after about 10-12ft I start to get a patchy reception, hth.

The Hugo's sound quality is really poor for me when using Bluetooth...I don't know if it has something to do with interference from something else (I do tend to sit next to my computer a lot), but it sounds a lot worse than when I use the Hugo with any other input.

EDIT: Wrong meaning, fixed!

Bluetooth = no use when listening to music unless you have really low bit-rate MP3 files in general. It's really not worth it to use bluetooth with the Hugo compared to other inputs.

Unless your Bluetooth device is ATPX enable...No ATPX , no sound.

Hugo sound very good using atpx paired devices.

Just curious: is this the same BT technology as what Sony calls LDAC on their totl ZX2 dap?
Or is ATPX even better?

Btw, anybody out there who has tried ZX2 with BT => Hugo?
Is it any good regarding sq?

I completely agree! Why would you use the Hugo with BT, seriously??!!

List of the useless (for me at list) features of the Hugo:
- 2 x 3,5mm out (one is enough)
- crossfeed
- SD USB
- BT

I would probably use it (not often) when I have my Hugo connected to my home rig and want to change or stream songs / albums from a dap without walking over there all the time...

I'm also aware it won't give the best available sq and that I'm a lazy ******* at that moment

Sony LDAC Bluetooth is only compatible with other Sony LDAC products, apparently it delivers the data three times faster than other Bluetooth services (so should be better than ATPX)... Chord/I have been trying to find out from Sony if they're up for sharing the technology, I'll update you on that lil' nugget when the paint dries.

I've tried the ZX2 via Bluetooth feeding the Hugo, the SQ is adequate when out & about but for any other use I prefer to hard-wire, hth...

Thanks for this information / explanation!

At the moment I mainly feed my Hugo coaxial with a DX90 as transport and I haven't got a ZX2 yet, but I'm considering one.
Would be nice if LDAC BT should work on Hugo in case I would get a ZX2

crossfeed is a superfeature. I like the results.. Sometimes I feel it has narrow the soundstage but gives more bass.

2 x 3.5 is too much, especially when no one can accepts alo 3.5x2 (hugo 3rd edition)

I fully agree. And it's very well implemented. I couldn't live without crossfeed anymore (not least due to ear resonances in the low-frequency area deviating between left and right).

I also think it's a must for making speaker-based recordings headphone compatible. That said, my whole music collection is already crossfeeded (for portable use), so it's actually disabled on the Hugo.
