Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model

although mine is for the ZX2, I have the same brand and it's smoke color, looks better than the black.

i prefer black on black but for ZX2 and smoke colour cruzerlite i find it attractive with the all black ZX2, wish my ZX1 is black tho..but still, both devices looks sexy IMO, especially using it bare..if only it's built to withstand a Tank and nuclear blast then i would happily use either zx1 or zx2 as is..

To be honest, I actually like the design and color combination of the ZX1 over the ZX2.

Just bought a used ZX1, so I'm very late to this dance.  I wanted to find a transport for my Hugo, and the 128g storage of the Sony worked for me, since I only have a 32g iPhone that is compatible.  It has a very nice, noise free digital out signal, so I'm very pleased with the sq I'm getting from it.  It's my first android device, so I'm still feeling my way around the UI.  Only downside is the battery life using digital out with hi res.  Quite surprised, as it looks like I might get maybe 3 hours out of a full charge.  I won't be using it on the road, so I guess I can tolerate this.

Its a great device and you are right it is a good sq for me too via the Hugo.

I am not sure if it is still using some of its sq internals to output, rather than bypassing them and passing to the Hugo; which is why its using more battery.

I use mine standalone as it is so light and am experimenting with other sources to the Hugo (Z3C and X5ii)

Both give me many more hours (12+) use on the go with the Hugo, but dont sound as good

I am forcing myself not to go down the AK route, but you might want to look at the stand (BCR-NWH10) for the ZX1 that charges the ZX1 while outputting, so you can use as long as you need at home. It does look a little bulky to me, but I believe reading others its a decent bit of kit.

welcome to the club, it's never too late to enjoy the ZX1..try turning off non-essentials on your device or uninstall apps to prolong the battery..

Thanks, I will take a look at that stand!  Sounds like a good solution.

Thanks!  I'm still trying to figure out how to turn the non essentials off.  Looks like there's a lot of Google functions working in the background, but haven't seen whether or not they can be turned off or discarded.  Managed, so far, to turn off the music enhancements, turned off wifi, and got it in airplane mode.  Still don't know how to delete unwanted apps completely, so I'd take any instruction on that!

^^i think i did the same thing to prolong the battery, and i uninstalled the update on Google+ and forced stop the app..with regards to completely cleaning the device of google apps i think we have to "root" the device which i havent tried yet, saw a post earlier in the thread of someone who successfully did it ..also i try to fully charge my zx1 when charging and try not to keep on recharging it throughout the day and not draining the battery to flat maybe just below 20% before reaching for that wall charger..

Wall charger?  What kind of wall chargers are there for the ZX1?  Wonder if the Apple usb power adapter would work.  Anyone tried this?

No rooting
I just uninstal them and my internal storage use is then just over 100MB

But you are not able to uninstall those built in google apps as they are in a read only rom; or am I missing something.
