I say name him and shame him. Such a d!ckhead move should not be tolerated. People have been kicked out and banned for less.

If you want to know who the person is just check highfell's trader feedback.

just want to throw a wrench into the conversation - maybe he really did send the d12 then someone opened the package (while in transit) and replaced the item with the e11

I know its totally inappropriate to laugh... But the thought of a headfi geek/thief threw in his e11 after he discovered the d12 cracked me up a little...
Sorry...

I feel for you mate!

On a positive note though!

Happiness! (The JDS c5d line-in give lower volume with the same settings than through the c5d DAC...??)

Silver/Gold Beauty!

highfell: If PayPal does not honor your claim, keep in mind that you do have a second option, provided that the $300 PayPal payment was made through your credit card.  If PayPal denies your claim, you can call your credit card company and dispute the charge.  The credit card companies usually decide in your favor and charge back to PayPal.  ]

Also, did the seller send the parcel to you via Express mail with tracking?  If not, there's a good change PayPal will rule in your favor.  I believe PayPal requires international shipments over $100 to be sent via Express mail with a tracking number.  If the seller uses another shipping method without acurrate tracking, he cannot prove the parcel was delivered to you at all.

Well, this thread as well as the mails & PM's from Highfell might be a handy way to prove that.

Hi Everybody!

I got my DX50 yesterday and am very pleased with its soundquality. Definitely a huge improved over my old Cowon S9.

As I love to shuffle my music I am desperately trying to shuffle only one artist/genre (I know how to shuffle "all music"), without success obviously. So I wanted to ask you guys if that function is not implemented yet or am I just missing something? Is there a feature suggestion site available where users can post their thoughts on the firmware or do I have to write an email to the support?

Best regards!
Mike

Welcome to the happy DX50 owner's club! And welcome to Head-Fi, too. Great folks here.

As for shuffling tracks by an artist, go into artist view, click the icon next to the artist, and hit play. Should be able to do the same with genre. Make sure your play mode is shuffle obviously.

No site available, unfortunately, but they seem to be reading this thread. Their e-mail is service@ibasso.com

Sadly not. The private seller has refuted sending the wrong amp in his initial response to me.

If he was selling a E11 at the same time he might have come back to me with "I may have made an error here". Mine was shipped from North America region which took three weeks to arrive. If he had made a mistake, on the balance of probabilities he is likely to have sent the 'other shipment' if it did exist within his country rather than across the Atlantic and the error identified earlier.

Also the package contained a random battery charger with no connection to the e11 for some reason, which doesn't make sense either.

Sorry to hear about this.....I actually nearly bought this supposed amp from this HeadFier about 8 weeks ago.......he had positive feedback on previous transactions from guys on here and seemed a sincere guy. Something actually happened that meant I couldn't go through with the sale and it sounds like I had a lucky escape.

I hope this issue gets rectified in your favour one way or another.....just shows that even when dealing with people with positive feedback you can still get stung :frowning2:

Thanks & thanks to all for your comments & suggestions.

It is what it is.

It is now in the hands of Paypal to sort it out.

I know I started this particular topic on this thread but I suggest we get back to the musicality & the idiosyncrasy of the Dx50 that we enjoy

I just came home with a jds c5. I was going to try the fiio e12 as well, but the moment i went into the store i found the e12DIY for 219 and the jds c5d did not work with my Samsung galaxy s4. I actually sat in there for two and a half hours listening to both amps(E12DIY and C5). My first attempt was with my ue6000. Then a Grado SR325is and a HD800 from the store.

DX50: firmware 1.2.7
Both amps on high gain, moderate volume, and bass boost off when using the grado and sennhaiser.

It was a hard decision to make that is why i sat there for so long. The E12DIY features a really wide soundstage compared to the c5, the bass isn't muddy at all, and the sound is crisp. The soundstage on the e12DIY is on a different dimension. On the other hand, I can hear more detail from the c5. The c5 have more depth, tight bass and a much cleaner vocal. I think the c5 is more exhausting for long listening period.

I'm not sure if I'm describing it correctly, but the E12DIY is cooler and the c5 is warmer.

It was hard... even now i came home with the c5.. I'm still thinking about the e12DIY.

Unfortunately, my wallet doesn't allow me to get both... time to save up for a new headphone..

Curious...from your description in bold, I would have thought you would chose the other one. Usually 'listening fatigue' is not a good quality.

You can change op amps on the E12 DIY so what op amps did you try?

That was a bad statement i made. I was focusing so hard, kept switching the amps back and forward, and testing different volumes for 2 and a half hour straight trying to catch whatever i can. I think that is what exhausted me. I was listening to the c5 for another 30 minutes on my way home in a relaxed manner, it wasn't exhausting at all. However, between the two amps, i think the c5 is more exhausting in "extreme listening period" because the sound is much closer to me with all the details going through which is a good thing actually. This is probably because I'm using a closed design headphone. E12DIY exhausts me in  a different way. I like to catch details, when is not clear i tend to focus really hard.

I'm getting confused myself if this keeps on lol.

Lets just say, both amp listening to 6-8 hour straight wont exhaust me.

I'm not sure. Since it is a demo unit, i assume it is the stock opamp. I will send a email to the store owner and check.

There are a number of dual op amps the E12 can use and single channel on the special board supplied by FiiO. So the sound, along with buffer changes, can very quite a bit.
