The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
Nov 6, 2013 at 5:26 AM Post #6,183 of 18,652
If someone in IBasso reads this thread, please give us the possibility to protect our device, with a silicon sleeve... Everytime i'm using my dx50 i'm afraid to knock or scratch it... Thanks

It's been discussed multiple times, they have a cover on the way, it's already out on Taobao, but under their "Mini Audio" brand.

I've been having problems with scanning the sd card on 1.2.3. After it finishes the scan, I presume as I usually leave it for an hour or two.
When I try and power on, it won't boot pass the Ibasso screen. Tried it a few times now, will have to go into recovery to wipe and reboot.
Going back to 1.2.2 now.

Did you check it to see if there's only music files on the card?

I had the exact same issue with my month old same songs working perfectly fine before 1.2.3. I don't think there is anything in the FAQ to cover for that, it seems like the new firmware has major difficulty dealing with scanning and building an appropriate database. It's a hit or miss. I had to reset the dap so often that when it worked, I did not touch it, added more music or popped the card out. I think it's time to call mr iBasso to release the official firmware! :D

After upgrading to 1.2.3_Beta and doing a factory reset, my DX50 performed a flawless scan. Everything was picked up, sorted correctly etc. It just worked

Same issue for me.
After the scan of my SD card, no way for the DX50 to start up.
It gets stuck on the iBasso welcome page.

I'm going to open a ticket to iBasso for this.

The scan is really appreciably faster with 1.2.3 Beta. I have a 64GB card around 50GB of files. It only took less than 5 minutes to complete the scan

Do a factory reset from the recovery menu, it's covered in the FAQ.

If you are using firmware 1.2.3beta don't bother. It's an experimental non official release which comes with it's own warning: Use at your own risk.

Your best bet if you don't wanna go in that scan/factory reset loop is to go back to 1.1.2 and wait for the official release.

Likewise - 1.2.3b won't boot after doing the initial scan. Just gets stuck on the initial screen. You can reformat by recovery, boot normally, scan and find yourself in the same position.

Have tested it (by not doing an initial scan) and I too find the sound a bit too boomy and fatiguing as a result. Not far off, but not quite there yet. :)
