worst date stories - Page 40

A girl that insecure, needy and lacking in perspective will undoubtedly have a very unhealthy marriage... and when it ends, don't be surprised if she starts stalking your friend again...

Unless the guy is also that needy and insecure, in which case good thing they found each other.

Yeah, but if he's so needy and insecure as to put up with a partner who's almost psychotic, there's a well-above-average chance that he may be controlling and (ultimately) domestic violence may become an issue.

Having said that, we both know that some people (not just female) have such low self-esteem that they stick around in spite of being on the receiving end of DV.

Human psychology is so messed up :(

.

Well there was one girl I dated that cut herself...I didn't find out until I paid close attention to her wrist while holding her hand because I felt scars there. Being the retard I am, I didn't break up with her until a couple months later when everyone close to me said I had become depressed, sad and brooding ever since dating her. Needless to say I finally broke up with her. Not a horrible date, more a dating horror story.

It's actually somewhat "contagious". It can sometimes form a sort of bonding in a small group. Like anything, it's a way to fit in, a form of expression, etc. For some, the physical pain is easier to tolerate than emotional, or it numbs it. Others just do it because are are doing it. Not too different from alcohol or drugs in a way. Still not healthy behaviour, but it is what it is.

Estimates range 10-25% females at one point or another in life.

5-10% males.

All depends on how you define self destructive, boys tend to hit walls,  girls cut, and both tend to burn themselves.
