VSonic reportedly is releasing two new models of headphones: the VSD1 and the VS1DS. Apparently, these headphones are supposed to have a sound signature similar to the GR07's while retaining 80% of the GR07's sound quality at a sub $50 price point. As usual, VSONIC has offered another great bang for the buck IEM!

Here's a website displaying a presale for them at $43: http://tychoice.com/product/20170263557/Weisuonike+vsonic+VSD1+VSD1S+presale+link%21+Creepy+strong+importer+of+guarantee

EDIT: VSD1 Is now for sale at Lend Me Ur Ears for $45.61 USD! http://www.lendmeurears.com/product_info.php?products_id=75

Initial information regarding the difference between the VSD1 and VSD1S from Google Translator:

  1. VSD1 Good for: pop, vocal, rock.
  2. VSD1S Good for: Female voice, classical, symphonic, big convention.
  3. VSD1 strength lies: frequency, low frequency, resolution, sound field.
  4. VSD1S strength lies: Loud field, high frequency resolution.

Latest impression from kova4a:

So far I have to say that if fans of bass worried about the bass of VSD1 - they shouldn't. IMO it's the bassiest of the whole sub-$100 bunch and I haven't heard the gr07BE but I guess the VSD1 will be more in line with it as it is bassier than gr07 mk2. It's got thickness and impact, which should make vsonic reconsider the Bass Edition moniker of the GR02BE. I don't think there'll be any disappointed bassheads.

@Lifted
I gave your mix a listen and I have to say that the VSD1 might not be the best for this type of music. Something more treble happy will be better and maybe something with BA drivers, so the speed is better. Of course, I still haven't started tip rolling and playing with insertion depth, so again I won't rush to conclusions before that and before more burn-in but so far they the VSD1 is a bit bass-oriented and while the treble extends decently (more so than the gr04 flagship for instance) it's a bit laid back. As far as the mids I wouldn't call them forward. I don't have the gr07 anymore but by memory I'll have to say to say for sure but I don't think the VSD1's are more forward than it and if they are it is very slightly - nothing like the Gr04 flagship let alone the gr06. Now it's probably more in line with the mh1c but the bass is tighter and a bit faster - of course, it can't match with the speed and the impact of something like my a161p but that's already hard for other single BA drivers, so I wouldn't call it a drawback when a much cheaper dynamic driver can't match that

edit: Actually scratch what I said about its shortcomings as I'm obviously rushing my impressions, which I realized now coz I tried it with the meelec tri-flanges - different tips and depth insertion do come into play with the sound, so until I've checked it with all of the bags of tips I have I won't be telling the whole truth.

Pictures of them worn under and over the ear:

OK, so this is how it sits in my ear and with a bit smaller tips it might be better

edit: and here it is over-the-ear

edit: I'm stil very early in the auditioning and comparison process and it's not that I'm trying to become the engineer of this hype train but even without the recommended by vsonic 100 hours of burn-in I'll have to say the VSD1 is definitely better than most sub-$100 iems (and maybe above but I'll see about that) and for now is definitely better than vsonic's previous try in that category - the VC02. Oh, and the mh1c too and brainwavz R1... (new ones will keep coming

Finally, after waiting for more than 2 weeks, the VSD1 I bought on a pre-sale have arrived. They sound amazing to my ears. Huge quantity of bass that does not swallow other frequencies. The bass presentation is better than MH1C and almost similar with GR07 BE. The midrange is thicker and more luscious than MH1C , Compare to GR07 BE and GR07 first version which I also have, they are slightly more forward. Treble is a little recessed or shall I say on the darker side compare to 2 versions of GR07 I have but they are smooth and you can feel its presence when needed and no trace of sibilance. I prefer them over VC1000 but thats only me, YMMV of course. The sound signature is tailored fit to my taste. For 30 USD, you will get an IEM with a mid tier sound plus 2 pairs of silicone tips and 4 pairs of foam tips which the quality is comparable to complys, what can I ask for? This the best 30 USD I ever spent on an IEM. I am not good at using technical terms to describe what I hear so please take this impression with a pinch of salt.

sorry for the crappy picture...

you can wear them cable down or over ear just like GR07 and GR06. I can not state the differences between VSD1 and VSD1S because I only bought the former. VSD1 is best for pop, rock and male vocals but for me, theyre also good all rounder

If you had to rank them and the MH1C numerically from 0-10 how would you rank them? Comfort wise are they better than the MH1c? Are they heavy?

Also, are the mids more forward than the MH1C?

I LOVE my MH1c except for the fit issue. These seem good for the price. Where did you get them for $30?

Thanks for the impressions.

Lendmeurears has started selling it for $36.79. I just ordered a pair coz I'm curious how it will compare to their other budget models and mainly the gr04 flagship as I wasn't really impressed with the vc02.

Ordered as well, if it even retains the basic signature of the gr07 it should be a steal at that price... Vsonic seems to be hyping these pretty hard too.

Those sound like they might fit my tastes nicely as well. One thing I really like about the 07BE's is how flush they sit in the ear - I can lay my head down on the side with them in without it being very uncomfortable, and also the sound for some reason doesn't get distorted/loud in the ear. Are the VSD1's as flush do you think?

I didn't want to create an account on lendmeurears.  Did anyone order from the U.S.?  If so, how much is shipping?

Of course I have it - it's the best sub-$100 vsonic iem

Ah yes, I could have just looked at your profile! I wonder how the VS1D's stack up.

Anyway, screw it. Just ordered them. That's it. I'm done. Self-banning in process.
