The Fiio X5 Thread

Why would you unpack X5's firmware? Is there something customizable for the X5? Sorry don't have X3 so I'm not familiar with the possible customization options.

Anyway, for those of you that want the album art to be fully shown, please vote for this too! Thanks!

To edit the theme, or in my case, the home menu scrolling direction. As long as you know what you're editing, you'll be fine.

I remember someone else wanting it to scroll in the same direction as the scrollwheel.

Here's fw v2.0 with the scrolling changed to your liking:

can you post the link for the unpacker?

I'm not sure if this is the last version (or if there ever was another version)

I've edited the bat files in this to work with X5.fw

Use at own risk.

Seems I have to eat my words… Posted a 'straight from the box' impression that I was a bit underwhelmed by the X5 (compared to my iMod) - but hadn't anticipated just how much this thing benefits from burn-in. Gave it 60+ hours and bingo, treble brashness gone, bass deepened & soundstage filled out - the holy grail of lush smoothness and sparkling detail. Very impressive.

Makes me want to rip ALL my albums to lossless now...

Lol! Looks like you may be one who can benefit from the high-res mp3 encoding and decoding of the new firmware that I talked about here :L3000:

@Joe Bloggs do you know if there will be another system virtualization tool released for the X5? (liteGUI.exe for x3 doesn't work)
