Hey guys. late to the game but I am in for a few bucks if there is some more needed.

On the equipment front, well. Today was a red letter day! I sold my LCD's and was thinking about the JVC's then today was passing commercial electronics and had a few minutes between appointments so thought I would pop in and see what they have.

Naturally first port of call is the headphones and there I spied a bargain so tried them out and fell in love with the sound! So I ended up walking out with them.. What are they you ask? Oh, I forgot :D The Beyer Dynamic T5P's! On sale brand new, never used until I tried them today $899! Cheapest I could find on line was Amazon or Headroom and they wanted $1399 plus shipping and such so these are a real bargain. I can't wait for them to burn in, have them on repeat on my old itouch at the moment to get some hours on them.

So add that to my equipment list if you please and take the LCD's off!

T5P... I've had bad experiences with them... They liked to make my ears bleed.

I also am down to pay money if we need it.

I'm selling off most of my stuff as well so all I can contribute is my HE-500 w/jergpads w/ 12-wire hybrid sinnet prototype, Wooaudio WA3+ with tesla rhodium E88CC & GEC CV 2523, Hifiman EF-5 w/ OPA627AP, and possibly my Frogbeats C5 if they come in time.

Ears bleed? Crickey, I am finding them really smooth compared to my old LCD's nor grain or harshness.

aw shucks, I won't be able to make it for 5th of May.
kind of hi-jacking the thread here but what other stores except the one mentioned above.. Commercial electronics? and Headphonebar are there in Vancouver where one might find nice headphones?

thanks!

Yours as well?
Have not heard the T1s yet but the T5p and the T50p (and of course, this is a very personal opinion) are THE worst headphones I have ever tried. Ever. Nothing else will ever compare.

That's too much stuff to edit just let me add you to the spreadsheet edit list or something (if stuff is going to change a lot). Was interested in the C4s but apparently wait time is horrid even for IEM standards.

Didn't I add you to the edit list though? Or was it another Ian?

But Beyer QC is awful so you might actually have a "better" pair

Will give the benefit of the doubt (only reasonable) though until I can actually hear them, if you would so let me :D

Shame :frowning2:

Commercial (very few, and not very recommended IMO for CS), HB, and two more. I can't remember the last two but one was supposed to bring something last meet?

Hi-Fi center. Not a fan of them. They sell mostly high-end home theater and they were very cocky on both the phone and msg exchanges saying how they will bring a $26,000 setup that will "bring tears to my eyes". After all the fuss about how they would love to support the local headphone community, they seemed to have forgotten about us (or lost interest seeing how it wasn't a MASSIVE meet to sponsor) and left without a word. They just seem like the kind of people who are purely economists and put community interactions below everything else.

Yes I recall you mentioning that.

I also recall it being stated with a great deal more profanities and salty sailor-worthy phrases.

Must admit I have had some good experiences with HiFi center though what the charge for headphones is laughable!

I remember when looking at getting my D5000's I went in to look, amazon we're selling from an authorized bricks and mortar store in the US D5000's at the time (2010) for $420 HiFi center were charging $899! Now I really like to shop local but that was verging on criminal profiteering! Especially when it was a proper store in the US with similar overheads!

Commercial and headphone bar are the best I feel.
