Given that the TFRM adapter sits inline, I imagine it is somehow designed to offset the impact of high output impedance on the TFRM's own specific characteristics (Rin refers to it affecting treble).

I have no idea of the circuitry involved, but I wonder if it's designed to attenuate (or boost) bass and midrange to rebalance with treble that is attenuated or boosted by impedance issues. If that's the case, such an adapter would need to be designed for a specific IEM and based on the individual impedance characteristics if said IEM.

I have been using the 64g cards as well from SanDisk. They are pricey but they surely work. I have not tried the other more affordable brands but I don't mind buying the SanDisk cards.

I love my RWAK-100S the more I spend time with it. At first the AK100 seemed rather toy-like to me, but it sounded very good and I really enjoyed it. After having it modded I am absolutely addicted to it and it really is a great source component. I use it in several ways. First, with a dedicated headphone amp for portable use (ALO International) and it is a killer combo. Second, I plug it into my car system through the line level headphone out and it sounds amazing. Going back to CD or satellite radio, sounds terrible in comparison. It raises the car audio to an all new level, and I simply have a stock system in my VW! Third, I use it on my home systems going from desktop to living room and use it as a source. Just plug it right in using a mini to RCA cable from the now line level out headphone jack, good to go. If you have an AK100 and are considering the RWAK-100S mod from Vinnie, I would highly recommend you do it. I don't ever leave home without mine...and road trips have never been more enjoyable with it running into the car audio.

The drawbacks of missing album art, clunky operating system, etc on the AK are not an issue for me because the thing sounds so good. I have learned to live with it's issues and simply enjoy the music.

Is listrid 3 available now?   I haven't read anything about that being out here, but maybe i missed it.  If so, what are the new features?

I finally managed to speak to listrid.
Listrid 3.0 yet, and probably will not.
He gave someone a ak100, now he has no AK100 and it is not very interesting to further develop the patch.
He now wants to buy x3 or dx50.
Naturally, he wondered what was inside.
We'll wait ....

It may be off topic but does anyone have any details about the new Samsung note 3 supporting 24bit-192k audio files?...it must have a pretty decent dac inside...

VERY interesting question.  I hope the Note 3 can output to USB  24/192 K audio (or at least 24/96)

Yes, Listrid 3.0 for AK100 until.
And then - let's see ..
Listrid-patch has fulfilled its task.
Iriver received signal and began to move in the right direction.
Now we can all use AK100 with the highest we have built into this device.
