334's bass decay isn't that slower. I wouldn't say its not as controlled... just bit hot I suppose.
The thing is, we all hear things so differently, there's so many variables it's amazing anyone agrees on absolutely anything here for most parts. I without a doubt see more disagreeing on these boards.
I found 1plus2 bass terrible, very bloated, loose and terribly slow, much prefer the low end on my Phillips SHE9700.

We all do hear things differently. The majority of people I've asked to try the 1plus2 werent as impressed as when they tried my 334.
Finally demoed the 1+2 with the gold+silver cable.
Hard to fault sound, with a dark signature yet sibilant on some songs. Great soundstage with natural imaging, mids are well detailed and never masked by the ever presence of the bass. Somewhat longer than usual bass decay, IMO.
I must say, my major concern is not the sound but the build and comfort. Isolation is also sub-par, maybe because of the vented design. Visible air bubbles in the shell and less than polished finish, very different the the MH334's craftsmanship. The thick and heavy cable made the non custom fitted ear tips a hassle to get a good seal. Considering a TG334! is cheaper and MH334 is not that far off if available, it just isn't competitive enough with great value IEMs like the ASG2 around.
YMMV
For my ears, TG!334 is my preferred over the stock 1Plus2.
However 1Plus2 with Uber is preferred over the TG!334.
In both cases, the TG!334 is with its standard 001 cable.
... the bass squirts in n flows out.
Yes, I know. That's why I said "for my ears".Agreed and not agreed.
That's very much depends on the source and personal preference. That's why I stated clear that Tera was my reference source, and my impressions on the 334 was solely referred to using Tera as source. Other fellow headfiers might find 334 is better than the 1plus2 when using other DAPs (AK120?).
Cheers,
