Pretty Indeed! You acquired an Uber Sir? It keeps coming to mind, daily. Then again, if it is fragile it is certain that I will break it. What was your original cable or have you heard them all?

Mine came with the Uber, though due to it's value and microphonics, I use other cables when commuting (Toxic Silver Poison, Toxic Scorpion or Twac V3). Copper cables pair very well with the 1plus2! Looking forward to trying out the Silver Widow when it arrives

LOL!  but I did remember gavin mentioning the 1plus2 sounded best with the carbon fiber faceplates then other materials they tried and thus is only offering carbon fiber in newer batches....

I think silver and gold aluminum faceplates are still offered (they were to me 2 weeks ago) but Gavin does recommend carbon fiber for it's sonic superiority.

By the way, the shipped from HK to my door (in the UK) in under 2 days. Insanely quick service!

I am satisfied with the new silver gold cable (it is not like it is a cheap cable either !) in terms of sound and ergonomics. My issue is that I use 1Plus2 on the go and Uber is just too fragile. If I decide to keep 1Plus2 as home cable then maybe....but not likely.

Have you had a chance to demo it yet Mimou? Would be curious to hear your thoughts on it? One day I'd like to pick one up though. I can believe the praise :p. I normally use the Sui anyways for outside usage as it has less isolation which is safer.

Here's my review of it: http://www.head-fi.org/products/tralucent-audio-uber-cable/reviews/8933

Note I'm not saying that this could replace amps or DACs. I mean looking at the cost of the cable, one could probably buy a DAC/Amp to get the same sound and still have pocket change. But if the topic is could this cable sound as good as a amp (or DAC or both combo) - to my ears yes.

Thanks Anak for your input on uber cable.

I never tried to not be tempted. Because I really need mobility for the 1plus2. Right now I am talking with my audiologist to have silicone tips for my 1Plus2 because I want more isolation.

Hmm let me know how that works. It would be nice to have an even better fit. But makes me wonder how much they will stick out of your ears that way lol. :p

Thanks Mimouille, I will only break the Uber. Interesting that you might be getting specialized custom silicone tips. I totally have the knack now with the large Comply. I discovered a new method of insertion which nails it every single time.

I kind of push the comply back, along the shaft squeezing it at the same time. Then let it expand. I then push on the leading edge of the headphone, the one closest to the weird little bump in the front of your ear. I am sure it has a Latin name.

This seems to serve to orientate the shaft perfectly and as I have pulled the Comply back, they don't get in the way of any sound waves.

It did take three weeks to get right, after that though, I am not even getting annoyed with people for talking to me resulting in me taking them out, as I know I can get them back in again in about ten seconds.

Would be interesting to try custom silicone. I wonder where in the UK does that. Anyone?

lol you think that's bad Vespertine try doing that with CIEMs in your ears. You want to wring peoples necks when they interrupt the music session :p. I can only imagine how much more difficult silicone IEMs will be to remove.

If you're still having doubts about the Uber cable—specially considering its price—I can confirm it will make things even more analogue than what you currently have, and we all know the more analogue the sound is, the more priceless it becomes. You will find that with the Uber cable your vinyl collection will sound digital and compressed in comparison.

and then came the BIG SEDUCER

thanks, i do not doubt Uber cable virtues but recently my wallet filed a stay motion to ban me from HeadFi, so i must wait and see what the judge (my wife) has to say
