u should venture and explore! there are better iems available! this game is never ending!

Hehe. Not everyone has so much spare money. Even have, not everyone want to invest to an IEMs. To me, now more exciting venture is tube amplifiers. So..
But everyone know there is no end, only if you want to burn money. :) In Chinese, people who invest to audio/video products are called "money-burned guys." lol...

"end game" sound for that type of ie800 sound is "lear lcm bd 4 2"
do check it out

Huh, people have told me the lear is disappointing, so I'm surprised, but of course different strokes for different folks. Has the lear been upgraded or a 2.0 released?

If I was wrong, please forgive me and correct me.
I admire Senn. for his always stick to one dynamic driver. Now so many so-called high end products use more and more drivers. Technically, that's a kind of compromise. Even it has better sound (most of times, NO), it's not impressive to me.
Moreover, no matter how much you like IE800/80, one cannot deny they always provided technical renovation. It's well known for 800. For 80/8, it improved IEMs' soundstage to a new level. The most hyped facet of Havi is its soundstage. I doubt its soundstage can be larger than 80. Even it was, it just fully copied 80/8's cavity!

Soon to join this illustrious group having won a bid for IE800s (from the UK) this morning.  It will be a couple of weeks before they land.

I've just perused the last 10 pages here and am intrigued by some of the opinions expressed.  Here is my 2c on why opinions on IE800, and other quality items, can differ so markedly:

1. No two brains with attached ears interpret AQ the same because of genetics modified by personal tastes over the years;
2. No two front ends (even with the same components) are exactly the same but most discussions like those here use quite different components in the chain, compounding problems of synergy and comparison;
3. Discussions re AQ are general and rarely centre around the one album.  This relates back to item 1 above where tastes in music, and how that music is recorded, vary widely;
4. And with IE components there is the added complication of fit/seal of the ear speaker, something again relating to genetics in the structure of the ear canal.

But none of the above 4 items matter a jot if an individual is enjoying the music using the IE800 or whatever.  I sometimes wonder if some people are able to relax and enjoy what their phones are delivering because they are more intent on trying to be analytical rather than appreciative.  BTW this is not aimed at anyone here and I've been guilty of it myself.

So, until my IE800s arrive I'll have to sit on the sidelines here and enjoy music on the HD800S phones which arrived early this week.

Totally agree with everything you said.

There are so many factors that makes one like a particular product over another - saying x is better than y, and thinking it applies to everyone else might be a bit simplistic (especially when we are dealing with high end products). It might be true to you individually, but not necessarily true for others.

Good on ya mate.  With all of the noise floating around this thread lately, I've been listening more to my IE800 trying to discern and compare with my other IEMs the width and depth of soundstage, the quality and quantity of bass, mids and treble, etc. blah blah blah.

What happened is I stopped analyzing and just listened to the music.  The IE800 is not perfect but it does sound great with most of the music I listen to.

yeah there are quite a few iems better than ie800 and cheaper too.

I wish I could find one :wink:

Seriously, I have been through a wide range of IEMs over the last year with nothing that really gets close enough to the IE800 to persuade me to change.
The closest would be the Echobox Finder X1 but all other hyped cheap(er) IEMs (1More E1001, Flare R2A, Dunu DN200J, Trinity Delta, RHA MA750, Fidue A65, FLC 8S) fell short.

Can you list out a top two or three decent IEMs that beat the IR800 on price and sound?  Will add them to my want list.
