V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Val, I personally love the Phantom Chrome.  Though my number one preference would be the Matte Black, the Phantom Chrome provides a really nice contrast to the other models.  Having the glossy finish will definitely look really cool especially with the difference colored shields and graphics that will be added later on.  It's important to have base models that are just plain different from the others instead of just slight differences in the color scheme.

My only concern is that it DOES look a bit too similar to the other models in the color scheme but that is probably due to the lightning not showing off the glossy material that the plates and hinges are made of.  I also think that changing the color of the inside of the headband as you have done with the other models might be something to explore.

I would love to be able to purchase matte rose gold shields to go with the matte black or shadow M-100.  That combo is really popular on watches right now and looks great.

I have to agree with this.  I'd like it, even though I don't have a watch to match it.  As far as new colors go, I like this way more than say, oh i don't know... Teal maybe?  I'd just want some shiny chrome or screws to go with it.  It would give it kind of a steampunk look.

BRSxIgnition,

Then either go the DIY anodizing route or find a local company that will anodize the color-stripped plates to any color you like.  Google will help either way.
I bet once you're done with this you could even arrange to ship them to V-MODA and have them custom-etch a design on your custom teal plates.
Might be worth the extra hassle and cost for the exclusivity aspect.

Now you can rest easy knowing that no matter what, teal plates for your M-100 are still possible.

Once again... In my post, I never said the word teal.. I referenced a blue shield that they had already put out once before - just urging him to bring it back. He has a black only, and a black + red version, so I was just thinking he should balance it with a white only, and a white + color version.

Seriously, I'm trying to be the mature one here, but people coming crashing down on me every time I say "blue" is getting freaking annoying.. please stop - he asked for opinions, I'm giving him mine. I know that I could probably get the shields separately later on for myself - but I'm stating it's a color scheme that I think would work for consumers. A few people here have mentioned how they'd like it, including WiRED, the recycling contest winner. Meanwhile, people don't seem excited for Phantom Chrome at all.

Either way - I'm thinking of getting the matte black most likely - so people saying this is all me being selfish are overstepping their bounds, as this was never just for me.

Now please.. keep the subject on the M-100's, like I am trying to do; and not on my color preferences or advice. Seriously.

I think Gunmetal would be a better color than Phantom Chrome as well - agreeing with someone else a few posts ago. I think the more subdued colors give off a professional feel, rather than flashy, chrome/glossy colors.

Are there any high resolution M-100 images out there?
I want to try and edit the colors out of Photoshop just for fun and see what to my eyes are the best colour combinations.

You can try doing that with a picture of the Crossfade LP's, as they won't look TOO different.

Val said he'd be taking pictures soon, so maybe sometime today you'll get some.

Well if teal doesn't come out as a shield, then well screw it, ill go black and orange (it matches my Repsol Honda Blackbird.)

I visualized how a teal M100 scheme (with a bit of teal accents) looks like with Photoshop.

Note that I didn't meant the colours to be so oversaturated. Damn ICC profile.

Even if the teal color is slightly oversaturated I'm very positively suprised of the look of this color scheme, didn't expect it to look THAT good. ;P Personally I'm slightly unsure tho if the metal "claws" should be colored that way or not tho, I think it might look better with the standard dark grey/black color too but can't tell before seeing side by side.

I think a white housing might look better with an unsaturated teal color.  Just me though

You can't turn a black housing to white and still look realistic in Photoshop. But I agree though.

Use this image then - I've tried it, but I have almost no photoshop expertise, hahaha.

I'll try problem though, there are chrome bits so it might be a challenge but it's possible.
Here's how I portray a Gunmetal M-100

Note that I wanted the top part to be matte brushed aluminium but because it's glossy, it looks a bit like chrome.

To me with black definitely looks cooler but yea your paintshop skillz might have to do a little with it too. ^^ But then again I also like the Shadow theme headband with the stitching too.

Orange + Black might be a viable option later on too.

I honestly love that color of the gunmetal black m 100's. It brings out the red and the grey. Its unique and new to customization of the colors. I agree with VortexBlast; that would make a fascinating color for Val's product.
