I like the phrase "bang for the buck CIEM". It's like saying "great value luxury car", or also reminds me of when I went to the Netherlands and observed the popularity of a chain of 'Discount Adult Supermarkets.' Not taking a dig here at the cost (well, not a huge dig anyway hah) but its interesting that there is only a highly specific context in which that phrase sounds reasonable.

Also like, taking my mother out to dinner last night to a All-You-Can-Eat Wagyu beef / sushi / sashimi etc buffet, which for $60 per person seemed like excellent value to me. :D

Ouch...you're kidding right? Over here for 60 bones a plate you can dine on a steak dinner with fancy dessert and a couple of glasses of fancy Italian wine. Mind you my city is known for having more restaurants per square mile then anywhere else in Canada. Restaurant wise competition is quite fierce over here.

I dunno, besides the UERM I've yet to run across anyone with a bad post concerning the quads that's why I threw the idea out there. Seems like both those CIEM's have earned a reputation on here for being great CIEM's for the money spent.

Can I just repeat: all you can eat, good grade wagyu beef? And unlimited green tea ice cream! I could not be more sated.

Why is it every time I see pics of CIEM's I think of fossilized dinosaur boogers?

"He was a strange child. We never knew what to do with him. He thought everything reminded him of fossilised dinosaur boogers. At the age of 8 we couldn't stand it any more and let him drift downstream in a small basket made of reeds. We don't know what became of him."

So that bottle of wine you're drinking going down good??

P.S.
I just found these new smileys and thought you'd probably like them

This little skit on the head fier Andy thread made me laugh

That's awesome.  It actually seems that audio shows are moving away from that approach lately.  I got to hear Tool on a pair of high end Vandersteen speakers at RMAF last year, and holy crap that was an eye opener.  The Vandersteens were awesome for Tool.  Other speakers that are demoed with some sort of jazz or acoustic guitar don't hold up so well when they get some more eclectic or bass centric tunage.  Which is why it's really important to let people listen to their own music on a system.

The thread on 1964Ears has gotten quite large, and I couldn't find much review on the 1964Ears Quad. Mind showing me a few impression/review post?

Yeah well that's the problem with most impression threads, you're forced to wade through 10 pages of chatting and bickering to find one helpful impression. Thankfully MF has the right idea with her Fostex TH900 impression thread. Every time someone posts a credible impression she updates post number two to reflect the new information. Wish everyone did that it would make for easier research. The iBasso DX100 thread is well on the way to becoming another behemoth thread to wade through for useful information.

Edit: sorry jumped the gun on the original links here's some updated reviews

HERE you go here's a nice one. An HERE'S another and one from the REVIEW master himself joker of the T's

My approach to this hobby is I find the music I love to hear and then try to mate the music to the gear that will make it sound really special. I'm glad you got to hear Tool on Vandersteens wish there were more people on here using Tool tunes for test tracks. Maynard is a rather brilliant individual as well as a little weird but hey that's part of his charm and I respect him for his art. I'm hoping I'll see a couple more albums from A Perfect Circle, Mer De Noms was such a killer album. Last time I heard Billy and Maynard were writing more music but that was awhile ago. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well not all Wagyu beef comes from Kobe. I believe that actual Kobe beef is supposedly the highest grade Wagyu money can buy? Nevertheless I've never had a complaint with yummy Australian cows.
